I played this game wrong for 70 hours
I made a team based on elemental advantage. Catching different elements was fun. Seemed like a good idea. But leveling them to not be under the world was pain everytime the world levels up with story progression, felt tedious. Being on equal level with the world is no fun coz random mons takes too much hp that create issues with switching, leveling, recovery items, or going around.

Then I found a much better approach, to just use 1 nexomon and pool exp on it for substantial level advantage. A lot more convenient than the above. I have like 10-15 levels advantage vs the world. I dont worry about getting attacked by random mons while I am going somewhere to fight something, coz I can just 1 hit them for free exp, 2 hit if they resist or tanky. Recovery items is more feasible to use (coz only need to heal 1 not whole team). The 1 monster can solo in tamer duels, or vs boss, items when needed. Then stack synergy cores on another monster to copy the exp to raise another monster.

this...will backfire on you, when you unlock cores you can trivialise keeping a party levelled by grinding shards for a bit and making a load of the tier 3 EXP sharing cores, someone mentioned this strat backfiring in a review for the game that devs responded too if i remember right

Backfiring how?

I already beaten the final boss with it. Throughout the journey I managed to craft 5 share exp core tier 3. I used it to raise another monster (get 100% exp without fighting). My main mons was the evolution of Dinja and Gekoko. I wanted to raise Mara and some others but it was so slow and tedious, even with 100% share or exp bonus on them. I'd be sure to maximize that exp gain from custom mode if I play again.

Idk how anyone suppose to raise full team in comparison to focused exp. Seems very problematic. If you keep the team equal level with the world, you take too much damage to make use of elemental advantage, coz when u switch enemy get free hit on u (esp annoying in duels). if u let monster die before switching, it doesnt get exp. If you keep monsters a few levels above the world, it means more grinding. If you want to put 4x synergy cores tier 3 on everyone, that's takes A LOT of mining. So bothersome. Pain everywhere.

Whereas in focused exp, you just play n beat monster/duelers on the way and your main fighter will have enough strength to face the world (with help of items). Feels effortless, natural, flowing, convenient. You dont stop to do dedicated grinding to keep up.

I made like 30 Exp Share III cores, and never have this trouble anyway, but yes - my lead mon was Acegon for ages, with 4 Exp Plus III cores and everyone else had the Exp Shares.

Acegon got to level 99 very easily before end game and I evolved every mon I had access to thanks to him.

I just beat the game by never switching from my starter once. Then my reward is to have it taken away and replaced with aa level 40 something for post game....screw that.
