Should I play this first?

Should I play the first game before this one? Is Extinction a sequel? Or is it a new edition of the older game? Does the story continue from the last game?

I've personally never played the first Nexomon before, but while there are a number of occasions where this game calls back to the prequel, it's perfectly playable as a standalone title.

Asked the same question here and the general response I got was "Not Really".
After doing a bit more research on my own I found that the 2 stories are linked but not to the point where you need to play the previous title to understand this one.
If want to know more of the lore then play the first but if not then don't bother cause I heard the first one had far worse gameplay compared to this.

Is the first game long? Because it's cheap as hell so if it's not a long slog or anything, and at least plays into the sequel a little, then I may as well spend the £8 on it too.

It's a similar length to this one. If you don't care about filling the (Nexo?)dex that will shave a fair bit of time off

if you want to know the history of nexomon play the first one

although in my personal opinion the second's better and i suggest you just play the second.

some of character form nexomon 1 will appear in the second and will have a key role. So play the first one if you want to know about this character more

I had never heard of thise games untill last week.. So, I played the first game last week and went into this one today.. I can say it is worth it. Not only is the first game really fun, but there are a lot of nods in this game to that game..I'd say do it cus it's worth it, but it is not necassary, no.

you missed out on micromon but its sadly only on ios. same company and ties to first nexomon game

Ayy I read about it last week.. I was going to play it till I read it was on mobile only.. If they ever port it to PC I will buy it day 1 :P

Odds are I did actually play it at some point but being mobile, it would of been microtransacftion heavy. It's blurred in with the other pokemon clones that are common on mobiles

If you like the story in this one you should play the first one both have a good story.
