players don't go up

I have players on my team who never train their progress. Yes they train the skills, but not the star progress.

Why?

I am also trying to figure out the exact process to level the players. I think it's quite complicated once they get to a certain level, but i think it has something to do with setting the start of your week to Improve Squad. (I'm still learning, so I could be wrong though)

the levelling-up-mechanisms are influenced by many things and also quite weird at the moment, but there are a few things that definitely influence it:
Your player's happiness, just try to keep them happy all the time.
The level your team is palying on, as lower levels that play in a higher league seem to "catch up" a lot compared to just normal player improvement.
The performance in a game seems to have an influence, but a rather inconsequential one (at least from what ive seen on these forums)
Every player has a hidden Stat which determines the individual growth and development of the level. The stat seems to be unrelated to the "Talent-Stars"

but I signed a 16-year-old player, and I put him to play as a starter and he didn't raise his level progress level throughout the season. He only went up when he played friendly matches at the end of the season. It's weird.

he's 16 years old, he should go up very fast. It had a level of 2.7* and did not go up anything.

how did he perform when he played? bc i had a similar thing, but i also just used the friendlies to push my new talents; it also made more sense to me that way rather than throwing him into a team where hes basically useless

Good lvl in games. Is last division of England, Vanarama league. He play good in games, but 0 points in progress in 20 matches.

hmm. I recently had a player (i just promoted to the first league in germany), who i found with 5 star rating and 4 star talent on the market for 650k (because he had the comment in his profile that his career was going downhill). I did all i could to make him improve and it worked for a while, but now whenever he plays for me and gets the best grade ingame, he loses progress points. So i decided to let him go. Sometimes you just have those players you cant work with or that just seem to suck due to their hidden stat. Maybe you just had some bad luck with that particular player and have to look for another one.

But is not only this players. Is with more players, never progress. And with good years, not olds.

do you have an assistant manager for the team?
because the skills of the coach also influence the development of the players.
Same goes for the people you assign to the team on the top of the page

Yes, i have. But nothing, only up in friendly games.

It is a bug. When you get a youth player and give him a contract for your fist squad he never goes up in the first year. He goes negative. In my last game i signed him at 136/400 lvl and end of season he was -115^^ Keen and Motivation at zero all day long, training poor. Satisfaction at max.

But in the second season it is all fine and he should be go up as others players do.
Was my third try to develop an own youth player, no chance in the first season, but he plays well.
In the second season: training top, keen + motivation max and 100/400.
So just wait for the next season^^

But it wasn't a youth player, he was a signing. And it also happens to me with players who were on the roster the first year I was on the team.

Well for me it works always fine to get them into Second Team, they always improve especially when they under 23. i did the same 19 year old 11 Stars get him into first Team well he improved a little but in Second Team you see progress even when it is ..../3000.
Oh and you dont need a full Team in Second but its better when they Play games.
Maybe its worth to just take a look if they improve faster there.

We had such a discussion recently in the anstoss-juenger forum. It seems that young players (<25 years allegedly) do not make any weekly progress on their strength level if they played long enough in that week to get a grade for their match performance. It doesn't matter if they got a good or bad grade.

So if you have young players, the only way to make them improve is by NOT letting them play or only letting them play for a very short time. It is completely backwards and must be a bug.

6 updates and the main problem of the game is still not fixed! There is no comment from official side on this problem.. there are at least 5 or 6 threads to this theme... no reaction... if this isn´t fixed in the next update i don´t think it will ever get fixed.
