I am not jumping through hoops to try a product to see if I like it. The installation process is fine, but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about registering with everyone is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ irritating.

You only need to register on the FG server if you buy a license or DLC. If you are in the US, purchase FGU directly from the website.

No you don't. You just hit Continue when it asks for the product key. It says that right on that window. Currently using the demo to play in a game my buddy's running. No product key here.

Leaving the product key blank and continuing tells it to install as the Free Demo version. You can connect with a GM who has an Ultimate license and be a player.

Please note that all licenses sold as of last week are now Ultimate licenses by default. The cost was adjusted to account for this. Previously, it was possible to buy a "Core" license that required the players to also need a Core license or higher of their own. If your GM's launch screen says "Core" next to the version #, then they have the older style license and will need to upgrade to the Ultimate before you can join their game with just the Free/Demo license.
