Classic vs unity on steam
Finally thought I'd buy a dice pack but steam says I require the ultimate version, which I have via being a kickstarter supporter. How do I get steam to recognize that I own FGU?

You just put your key in like you would if you bought any other product on Humble Bundle or Kick-starter.

Before you do that however as you didn't actually buy the product through steam, consider whether Steam is the right platform for you. Obviously steam is great, but If you just activate the FGU product after downloading it from their website, you won't need to have a steam session running to use it, which means it's easy to port to any device and ready your ref manuals when offline.

It's also much easier to track what you own if you only buy from one source, I have a some stuff from steam and some from Smiteworks and at times it's hard to keep track of everything or identify key stuff, like when a new Aliens Cinematic comes out.

Also your title mentions classic vs Unity... classic is no longer supported so you don't want to go there. It's so old now I don't think you can even buy an upgrade licence anymore. That kickstarter you mentioned that gave you the upgrade with your backing was in like 2019 or 2020.
