2. If you want to host a game as a DM for your players, you need either the Standard or the Ultimate Licence,
3. If standard your players must also buy standard to play with you, but this lets them be DMs too if you want to share the DM'ing role module to module.
4. If you buy Ultimate your players play for free, but can't DM for your friend group unless they also buy Ultimate or all the friends get standard
5. By default you host from the smiteworks cloud service so there is no port forwarding or other drama that used to exist with Classic, you just host and players connect
6. If you want to you can still host locally or LAN
7. Buying FGU doesn't give you the books to play D&D, you get the SRD free stuff, but to you still need to buy manuals and modules and stuff
8. While you can share your stuff to your players as a DM, you can't as a player share stuff to a DM so if your friends want to DM, they also need their own books.
