everything i do seems pointless i figured out i need to trap it in water by defrosting the ice but still i can figure out how to do it fast ... is every game a dark souls game now i mean i just want to progress the story

The Construct is easy: you keep saying you need to do it FAST. I get that, just use the Gravity Trap.

That's the point. What you should have done is shoot the ice under the construct as soon as the fight begins. When the construct sinks, shoot its weak spots.

But then the moment the construct gets back up, use the gravity trap so he can't jump off the ice.
