Whats the purpose of the Jet and Air?

Air is just a gas with 0 gravity(not affected by gravity).

Jet can push materials away from it.
As far as what direction it does, or if it propels itself at all, I can't figure anything else out.

Isnt that just a rotater? I have not seen the jet do anything
