Compass puzzle problem

After steering the boat to cause the compass to rotate, I then align the meter with the compass and it lights up to show the connection is complete, but the meter fails to move to the right ( as shown in the help video) . Any clues?

Deflect the boat first (with time difference) and then align with the instrument panel.

Hi, in the compass puzzle, maybe pay a little bit more attention to the direction of the boat. The boat can be steered to both directions.

Do you start with red compass needle on top, and rocket dial turn on and pointing up?

Hello~! I've been eyeing this game for quite some time and finally got it, I got stuck on this puzzle for quite some time, I felt abit gaslighted to say the least. So are supposed to turn the boat when the pin is already in the middle, then while the animation is going, line up the pins together and then it will move towards the green meter. I understood it after abit it was just slightly confusing for my small brain :'] but that's how you do it!

I think it is a particularly obtuse puzzle, and I'm still trying to figure out what to do, which way to turn the boat, etc., etc.

I hope it isn't really necessary to start over. I might never get through to this point again!

There is a text-based walkthrough for Moncage at walkthroughking.com. A single paragraph on the compass puzzle suggests you have to change the direction of the boat three times in all. I'm going to study it and see if I can get the puzzle under control finally.

No luck so far. If there appeared to be a strictly logical solution, I wouldn't be asking for good luck.
