Traps activation and detection through solid block.
Happen two times today (and the day is not over...).

First time an arrow trap activaded through a solid metal block from the exterior of the dungeon, he don't hit me because that was a bug.

But the second time a flamethrower trap killed me because he activaded BEHIND a solid block who carried another flamethrower trap on his face.
This was intentional from the dungeon maker (Vxertzu, cross-plateform player, map : McEwen).

So you see a flamethrower, you kill it. You advance, you earing flamethrower trap activate behind this first trap, and you are dead.

Please, fix your game.

thats pretty bizarre and yeah you can tell it was no accident.
could you have walked around and looked at it or was it totally blocked off?

it would have to use the range extension mod to reach 3 blocks out like that.
seems like the impailer might play a part in making it happen but dont know what block is behind it. assume its a red one but maybe they found a way to leave the trap up without the block causing the fire to go through the trap.
or fire just works through impailers on cubes. are my guesses

Variation I've seen is fire through a Grapple trap. A PS player did it... So, not PC exclusive.

Welp. I figured it out. But, mentioning how to do it will spread it like the plague... And this is a unbeatable glitch if repeated in a long wallway. So, yeah... Pray it gets patched out before it spreads like wildfire.

I made a social Base just now, using it, if you devs want a example of why it needs to be removed asap. Search my name and/or Shafter. Only 3000 capacity and impossible to beat with my advanced knowledge and skill level... >_>;; I'll update if someone beats it and/or displays a way to get around the exploits.

No i have no way to walk around, this is totally blocked.

In this video the dungeon are from a cross-plateform player (aka console player) so yes, not PC exclusive.

you may have uploaded the wrong one it said it was a small map so unless its a prestiged one it only had 1500 cap max.
sorry for the really bad gameplay tho im on steamdeck in a cramped space with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ travel mouse. but the gimmick was as easy to beat as i suspected. just use the barrier consumable.
its an annoying gotcha trap cause who the hell suspects fire from a destroyed trap.

idk what to do to make this become unbeatable its only plus is it cant be broken but its short range and easily counterable once you know its there? maybe if you made a long hallway that used pistons and a lot of flameguard warmongers. but even then you have 3 grenades and will the hallway even be long enough to make it work?

cheapest way im guessing is, second second stage piston+claw+incinerator. 155 per trap so about 6 per 1000cap so around 24 cubes total not including warmongers or blocks to make the map put pressure on the player i can probably grapple about 12-15 blocks before pistons start to work depending on turns and how well i were to grapple and have two resets. technically 4 if using the arc shield. so im sure i could escape.

im no builder tho. i can beat killboxes but making them is kinda tough for me

Yes, I came to say someone beat it in 4 deaths. I'm guessing it's you, cause of your comment. Yes, Flash barrier seems to be the answer... But if the exploit was used waaay more, I'm thinking that 2 flash barriers wouldn't be enough. But Kudos on the run! Even on a steam deck, you were really quick with rapidly destroying multiple traps, all activating near the same time. My play style is really slow, so this is a example of what slow players have a hard time with, basically, non-stop pressure... Not being able to stop a trap from activating and not even realizing to turn off slow play for quick play(Which would be no-muscle memory quick play, at that.) Huge eye opener. But yeah... This is a Trap that makes the "Dakka shuffle" useless.

So if this was applied to Dakka's Min-Max idea... I'm thinking no shuffle, equals death. But Dakka's another slow player, so his perspective might not apply to you. >_>;

i was actually hoping no one would post this as it will only allow it to spread around. I think this might be partly my fault for this even being known about. which is why i have not enabled my chain ride map since then, in fact, i'm about to go wipe it from existence.

i know exactly how this is done and why it works but i was going to come here to ask about how to report a bug without actually posting it. because the devs are slow to patch things even on their main source of income of a game. they'll be even slower here since this is only a secondary source of income for them. the only thing this post is going to do is spread the knowledge of this exploit even though you mean well, the cheaters are always on google keyword searching for various games for cheats, hacks and exploits.

for the love of god please delete or edit your post so not every base in the game is an exploit base.

i noticed this was going around shortly after people rode my chain ride base for the close call xp bonus and i disabled my map immediately after i played on someones base after they played mine and they made a whole map full of these cheap exploits. the only way to beat it is having shields and using your zipline as fast as you can to get in and out. I also recently made a base showcasing this exploit and it's active and live. i'm hoping it gets reported enough that the devs see what's going on and fix it since i don't wanna share how it's done over the internet.

As much as I'd personally enjoy a undestroyable mod for traps...(To discourage camping.)

I'm not a fan of it not being a intentional thing placed into the game.
Tons of bad feelings for both the raiders and the builder that chooses to use it.
(Knowing you're being cheap and wrong for using it... or in the case for the raider... Feels like the builder is cheating. )

welp, i built something for fun and for max xp gains and it turned into a massive exploit. which was why i disabled the map and removed all the traps in it because it was unintentionally showing people how it was done and that it could be exploited. almost every person i've seen doing this has been on my chain ride base i made so far. and it was a pretty popular map. i think i had about 100 people play it. and thats really all it takes, is 1 or 2 out of 100 for them to go tell all their cheating friends and it spreads from there.

Shockingly, they didn't fix the piston in the floor one, though. >_>;;

Thing is old bases of mine that had setups with holocubes are now not working properly. Bolt traps getting triggered before the genmat gets picked, flame throwers getting triggered in the first run-through, giving away their location before the genmat gets picked up, and whats most frustrating, players are gonna block me because they assume I tried exploiting a glitch when the glitch came AFTER i made all my levels. So yeah fix this BHVR, this is not accaptable at all.
