level builder should display normal / dangerous / brutal rating cutoffs
If I'm shooting for 'dangerous' but I've added a few too many traps, I want to know how many I have to nix to get my rating just under 'brutal' - or similarly, when making a 'normal' outpost, I want to know what the cutoff is before 'dangerous'

the current 'guess and check' method of adding a trap, then waiting for the defense criteria to recalculate and see whether it affects the rating is not a great experience.

The thing is that the danger rating is also depending on multiple other factors like proximity to HRV path or denseness of trap clusters. So there is no simple answer to "what do I get if I remove this?"

"its hidden to prevent abuse of the system" BHVR said in an AMA forever ago
personally i think the system is too broken to show players and we could find all kind of loopholes in it. the aug 15 patch had half a dozen fixes for it whos to say what else about it is broken as all heck.

otherwise its just a frustrating extra mechanic you need to toe around while building

honestly I had no idea, the fact that I don't actually know the equation for the danger level makes me want a bar even more.

I feel like if the difficulty levels are legitimate, then builders should be encouraged to build to a particular spec - I certainly like making ridiculously challenging Brutal levels and nice Easy levels in turn. Working with that kind of artificial boundary helps encourage creativity.

If they are afraid of a possible abuse of danger rating, its because the system is pretty bad.

When you have a feature that you are confident with, you are not afraid to show it all to people !!!!
