It's very barebones if you wanna build they put too much effort into raiders and not enough into building.
is it? all raids i did, i could find the creator on steam, but i didnt check all, just the outposts i liked.
ah okay thats possible, will check this later.
Let's just do a little guesswork here. 3K peak players on Steam. That means there is probably easily at least 30k total unique players playing at least every 2 days or so. Probably more. Each one has at the very least 1 active outpost on average. Many players have more though, but assuming some expire while players are offline, let's go with 1 outpost per player. Now include the players on console and there will be probably over 100k different active outposts that you could get and due to the game design of prestige level being 10 max, there will always be new outposts to pick from unless player count reached zero some day.
I'd say the player count is fairly good for a game like this. Of course the more the better. But perhaps if the game gets more content updates and streamers are picking it up more, it gets more exposure and more players. But for the time being, the amount of outposts is far more than you could ever play even with the current player numbers.
Its free on PS+. That dramatically inflates player numbers but the real test will be how many of them actually buy the game when the month is over. I'd assume less people will buy it on console than here on Steam, judging by the general "console players quit maps way faster and don't seem as invested" comments I've seen in this forum.
Why do you think there's 10k players?
https://steamdb.info/app/1194810/charts/
According to Steam DB, the game peaks at around 3k players total. Are you saying more than double that play on console? Also, a lot of people just don't make bases. I raised a concern in another thread that if everyone made bases, there would be too many bases for anyone to play yours. People commented that they don't all make bases and many didn't make ANY at all. Some raiders just want to raid. Which means the total number of bases will always be less than the total number of players.
Like you have a group of players let's call them players Z which are 10 unique players. They playing in the first half of the day at the same time, so concurrent players are 10. The second half of the day you have player group Y that are also 10 players, but player group Z stopped playing already. So you still only have 10 concurrent players. But overall that day it would have been 20 total unique players. Just as a simple example.
So while there are 3k concurrent players during peak hours on Steam, that means the actual total amount of daily unique players on Steam should range anywhere from at least 10k to 30k players. It's just how it works. Most people only play a few hours tops per day. If I play in the morning it means I won't be among those 3k players that play during peak hours. And even during peak hours it's not just 3k players. Every minute you have players logging in and out.
Since the change to private profiles, total owners and unique players can only be estimated. Steamdb estimates the game has between 30k to 60k owners so far if you scroll a bit down. Considering the game is only a few days old it's safe to assume that at least half of them are probably still active in one way or another.
And since you can raid player bases (and get raided) while you or the other player is offline, it the total amount of players is more important to look at here than the concurrent player base as the multiplayer part (unless you co-op) isn't done "live".
The game has been out for 3 days. When it shows the peak players, that's EVERYONE. Let me turn this around though. I've shown you where I've gotten my 3k number from and why I think it's accurate. The game hasn't been out for a week yet so weekly player numbers are the current population. If you can give me any source that says otherwise then sure I'd happy accept it.
