my base is gone. i need help
i got this game for free on ps5 but i was wondering how i can build on my base again.

so what happened was...

i built this really cool base. i played a few games on other peoples bases and wanted to completely change my base since mine was way open and the traps weren't very well hidden and i had new ideas. so i went back to my base and from the main menu it said delete. so i figured i wouldn't have to go back into the level editor to wipe it and start from scratch. well, a prompt came up and said this action can't be undone am i sure. well, yeah, i'm sure i want to restart the layout and pathing. so i deleted it. and now i can't access it at all anymore.

now, when i go to the build screen and it asks me if i want to claim a burial site. in the site options, my base is still there and it says i own it. however, it won't let me pick it because it says i own it already.

but right under the top left of my screen it says:

Available burial sites_
Burial Sites Owned: 0/200

on the site picker screen my Cuthbert site it is grayed out and says "Owned" but i can't select it.

how do i access my owned base so i can edit it again?

The main problem with the prompt not working well is because the menus all look the same and all use "x" to go back. The key to strip the outpost is also "x"! This is much a failure of game design as a mistake made by players. It still needs to be fixed.

Perhaps it has been changed in the last while? I haven't played for ages. It just bothers me that people who don't experience these things and can't bother to use their brain to try and understand why it happens respond in such ways.

*sigh* even though devs gave it a "prompt* due to ppl complaining about it.. ppl still do it lol.. i think they need to reword this to be more clear.

Deleting from the command centre COMPLETELY DELETES it.. as in the whole outpost itself and never get it back again.

You need to go into base build to wipe all the blocks by pressing TAB then hold X

As your new.. here's my post with some tips that may help.. as well as the delete i just said :D

yeah they don't make it clear that you're actually deleting the whole entire thing and will never be able to use it again. it just seems like a wipe tool to start over in your base. it's crappy they lock you from ever buying that base again in the event you do this on accident. it's not even included with the tutorial that if you do that then this is what happens.

only thing you can do is contact support and see if they will give you a refund for it

They could put 5 prompts all explaining that deleting means the base and land is gone and people would still accidentally delete their bases. There is no accounting for ID-10-7 errors.

did someone on dbd hurt you? did you not get enough views on your channel despite putting ttv in your name? quit being so negative.

i can assure you that a prompt explaining to someone WHO JUST FINISHED THE TUTORIAL portion of the game and first time receiving such a prompt, on their first base and wants to restart that base from scratch would read a prompt explaining exactly that thing you mentioned. except that prompt doesn't mention any of that. it just asks if you're sure and if you're in the mindset that yes, i am ok with resetting my base so i can start over, you're going to push ok without knowing that your whole base is just going to become 100% unplayable and un-editable.

ALL the prompts say the exact same thing in regards to deleting or wiping something. but instead, you're given a prompt that says one thing and you're expecting another and that same prompt coincides with the very thing you're expecting. in fact, going into a base and wiping it from within the base...... get ready for this..... GIVES YOU THE EXACT SAME PROMPT I GOT BEFORE I LOST MY BASE. So even within my base editor, i'm now scared to remove anything if it doesn't involve the L2 button on ps5 or whatever the pc equivalent keybind would be to remove each and every block 1 by 1.

for some reason or another they even allow you to delete the very block sets that allow you to build bases to begin with. you can't undue it and its gone forever. why is that an option? i only know about that because i pushed a button on accident and saw the SAME prompt and noped out of it. where else are you supposed to get blocks, props and decorations at? as far as i know you don't get anymore unless you buy the only dlc pack they have that has block sets.

so tldr; there's been a huge oversight in design within the prompt system. i'm still having fun with the game but there's been a massive oversight in the prompt system.

a mod should probably close this thread since it doesn't seem to be going anywhere because angry ttv kids with "my answer is the only real truth 100% of the time mentality" and my issue has since been resolved by me playing the game and buying 2 new bases and learning from a mistake clearly made on part by developer oversight since clearly i'm not the only one having these sorts of problems when people just start playing the game.

This part i don't get... you keep all blocks and decos :/

Am guessing you mistook that as delete the block itself and unable to use again... which is also not clear to ppl i guess.... basically you can delete the type of block / trap / deco / color you got selected and will wipe it clean of the outpost leaving other things still there... but you do not lose the block or deco you delete.. it's still in your build menu.

So in other words.. ANYTHING you DELETE while in BUILD MODE.... IS SAFE :D

Also the DLC isn't worth it.. unless you really want to look Egyption style.

Also you can press U to undo if you delete the wrong type of blocks.. but only undos the most recent delete.

see, this is also another apparent issue with the prompt system. this isn't explained in the tutorial or shown in the prompts that X thing, whatever it may be, is only done in X mode of the game. it just says deleting this will remove it forever or something along those lines from what i can remember. why take the chance when i already had to sit there and spend several hours raiding just to get a new base again due to the prompt system being unclear? i'm not stupid or dumb. i've been playing video games longer than probably most people here have been alive. I understand what things in games do without needing a tutorial the greater majority of the time since every game has the exact same mechanics to them across all platforms for whatever type of genre game it falls under. the prompts in this game are ambiguous at best and unclear for certain until you do it and find out.

Reverse responsibility? Excuse me, but I am not responsible for your inability to think outside yourself. I can recommend asking your parents for guidance or attending school. Please let me know if that helps for you.

Yes, they do.
You just had a moment of genuine stupidity.
It happens to all of us, now take this new found knowledge that things do what they say and move on.

"do you want to destroy your base. this action cant be undone"

pretend you're brand new to the game and want to reset your base.

what's your first thought here? you want to destroy your base in order to rebuild it right? say you had a massive structure on it with the bare minimum traps. you want it to what........ go on, since you seem to think you're so smart mr brand new steam profile on private wanna run your mouth actin like you're the smartest on the planet. you want to destroy it and start from scratch, right? right.

this prompt is ambiguous as to what is going to happen until it has already happened.

much like this whole thread. the answer has already been provided, i've already stated it has been solved and yet here you are, with your small minded point of view telling others to "move on" while keeping the thread up at the top. are you sure its not you that is intellectually deficient? or were you here simply to stir the pot because your mom doesn't hug you enough? some of you people in my post are so socially inept that you don't know how to speak to anyone outside of your own little bubble.

Don't have to pretend, that's what I have done several times already, even during the beta when there were no guides out. I have also deleted one of the outposts I didn't end up using, on purpose.

Again, no need to get so worked up about it, it happens.

See, even you did the same thing and had to learn exactly like everyone else new and yet here you are starting crap pretending you're on a higher level than anyone else. what purpose does that solve? none. you're just being an as* for the sake of being one and no other reason. on the other hand, no one is getting "worked up" as you say. I'm pointing out obvious discrepancies in the stupid crap you said in your post in an attempt to be a smartas* because of your own failure to read anything within in the very post that's being talked about.
