Manual unwrap?
Is there a way to manually use the new UV unwrapper? I have several terribly unwrapped models that I'd like to auto-unwrap, but Painter seems to default to their existing UVs.

Hi, currently its fully automatic but we intend to add options to let you override existing UVs in future updates. For now, you'll have to delete your UVs first.

how to delete UV ?

@hellatze, in Blender, with an object selected go to Object Data Properties tab, and under "UV Maps" remove the UV maps for that object (the "-" button).

Apart from the option to override existing UVs, it would be really nice to get some options for the UV unwrapper, as it seems to do a very good job (excellent even!) but sometimes requires tweaks.

Hi friends, I removed UV in Blender but yet when I import in Substance it can't unwrap correctly even a basic cube. I use the 2019.3.3 version am I missing something ? :(

I don't think you miss something. The automatic unwrapping is not really up to par with those type of shapes. That somehow includes a basic cube, which unwraps pretty bad by the algorithm.

Weird. Following the exact same steps I always get this;

It does not matter much, since those are trivial shapes to manually unwrap and I usually end up unwrapping complex shapes manually anyway. Still strange.

Same result. I quicky try the auto unwrap with other basic shape. The result always seam crappy...
