BUG: Pen Pressure doesn't work
Topic name is self-explanatory. I'm using a simple Wacom tablet (Intuos 2016), so the Pressure buttons at Size and Flow tabs doesn't do anything.

SP 2019 version got an update too, with the same bug.

Driver version: 6.3.37-3.
And yes, i had disabled Windows Ink checkbox. I enabled it, now pen pressure works, thanks!

But i think in previous version it was worked fine, even with disabled Windows Ink.

Yeah enabling Windows Ink on my tablet settings solve the issue but, now everytime I have to turn Windows Ink off again to work on Photoshop. Because there is a common issue that makes pen pressure useless with Photoshop when Windows Ink is enabled. Can you guys elaborate on that issue with Photoshop team on future releases.

I've never had any issue with Photoshop and Windows Ink, do you have a link to a forum or someplace where it is described?
We switched to Window Ink because it solves a lot of issues with non-wacom talbet brands among other things.

Simply, I'll put that link here. It's everywhere.

The video seems to indicate that pressure will not work either in Photoshop without Windows Ink, and that's my experience too.

i`ve enabled windows ink and now pen pressure works in subs, but this ink makes a lot of annoying stuff like when you try to paint or press any button or slider on the screen, it just hangs for a second every time, and that terrible donut shows and it works like that in substance painter and 3ds max and photoshop, so i usually turn this ink off. Could you do something so users don`t have to enable this ink ? Pleeeease :)

There are ways to disable those annoyances, although Windows 10 doesn't make it easy.
You'll have to go in the old school control panel then follow these directions:

thank you, it helped a bit, but still there is little hanging after pressing and a donut is still there, i`ve changed some other options in windows, nothing helped :( i`ll try to live with it then

As for Wacom setup - there is ability to create multiple profiles for different programms. You can create profile for Photoshop with disabled Windows Ink, and profile for Painter (with enabled Windows Ink), for example.

For complete disabling that "donut", go to Settings -> Devices -> Pen and Windows Ink. Uncheck the Show Visual Effects box.

well, thanks, i`ve unchecked "Show Visual Effects box" option in settings some time ago,but that didnt help anyway. And different profiles won`t help with little press delays in substance painter

please remove requirement of having windows ink enabled, I have know tons of artist and every SINGLE ONE OF THEM HAVE WINDOWS ink DISABLED! (including me) This is unacceptable. Windows ink is terrible.

Not everyone uses wacom tablets. Huion tablets dont have option like that.
Now I have to re-enable windows ink every time I need to use substance, and disable it if I need to use PS or just navigate windows with my tablet.
THIS IS HORRENDOUS.

The switch to Windows Ink is actually what allows us to support many more tablet brands on models with this update. Photoshop also uses Windows Ink for pressure and requires some advanced trickery to make it work without so we're only being consistent here.

Again, after fixing a few settings in Windows, you should not see any delay or circle or anything like that. We will setup a guide in our documentation to help folks get a good experience out of it.
