For Substance there is (of course) Substance Academy, as well as some independent You Tube videos. Here are a couple of good ones.

If you are just trying to get a feel for your style and not ready to paint individual 3D models, play around with filters in a paint program using real life photos of objects. You can get some interesting stylized effects. For tuts, start by checking out videos by Blue Lightning TV on You Tube. They use Photo Shop, but you can probably do similar things with GIMP, Krita, or Photo Pos Pro.
