A bit sad (specs discussion)
Finally we get to see the specs for the game but it says it needs 8Gb RAM. My PC has currently 6 and it will be a while untill i get to upgrade (but wont be able to get game at launch so thats no problem)
Still, WayFoward said that game would have same specs as Half Genie Hero which runs perfectly on my PC (for that one I have the GOG version, for anyone curious)
So who do we belive, the oficial specs or the oficial developers? Wish i could get game day 1 to check myself, but since thats no option now, I would like to hear your opinions on the matter.

Maybe they will update specs. This one they listed right now look weird. Because they said that this game using same engine as Half-Genie.

Le'ts wait for an update then. If it's using same engine this should work no problem, I hope.

It was probably the weakest PC they could find in their studio to test the game on. I'm pretty sure it will run well on potatoes. After all, it's works well on mobiles.
Buy it and if it lags, refund it.

Don't you have a Switch? it's coming out on Switch too and I'm surprised you don't have a minimum of 8GB tbh. Most people nowadays have 8GB RAM as standard. I have 16GB but the reality is for most (if not all) games 8GB is enough.

I dont have a Switch and even if I had, since its mostly digital only (except Limited Run Games edition) I'd rather have it in Steam, for security. And yes I know my pc is on the low-end for gaming stuff, one day I will solve that issue too.

Honestly you should be more than fine. If there is a problem, at worst it might run at 30 fps instead of 60 fps and again it's a mobile game with mostly 2d art. I mean half genie hero (for the most part) ran at 60 fps on the vita.

I'd bet you'd be fine.

Then I'm curious why the game do not give users the option to launch below DX 11 like HGH which isn't in the spec list that it is needed to launch the game.

EDIT: they just updated the specs that it needs DX 11 to launch so they are most likely doing it slowly. I can only hope they add the option to make it work with 10 and below as they update the list.

Ram isn't always that big of a deal when it comes to running a game, and 8 was probably just a rough estimate because they didn't have a PC with less than 8 or 16 (pretty much the current standard) to test on.

The most likely thing (if anything), in my semi-professional opinion, is that it could be a little slower to alt-tab out of while it's running because the system might have to put a few more background processes into the pagefile while the game is running.

You could get it and then re-fund it if it doesn't run well.

I've noticed some games will have system requirements which are partially bogus, so there's a chance it will actually run just fine.

Imo don't worry about it, what really counts is that there is enough RAM left for the game. So when a game needs 2GB to run smoothly, even 3GB of total RAM can be enough, as long as the rest of your running programs, including the operating system, only take up to 1GB.

In your case with 6GB and Windows I assume, you still have about 3GB left for the game and that should be plenty for a 2D sidescroller like this.

What I find weird is the cpu requirement: "Fourth gen i-series proc or higher". How do the devs arrive at that? What's so specific about 4th-gen icores for this game? Are they implying for example, that a 4th-gen i3 mobile low-wattage cpu would run this game, but say, My 2nd-gen i5 2500k would not? Is there an instruction set on the 4th-gen icores that's needed here?

I'm sure My proc would handle this game fine, didn't have any trouble on the previous Shantae game, not to mention all the VR I run, but it's still a bit nebulous. They really should stick to the old tried and true "Ghz/cores" measurement.

I've played the previous one with 4 gb ram. The animations glitched a bit, but otherwise it worked just fine. Don't worry so much. :)

"The weakest PC we have has that, and the game still worked, so let's write that."

That's possibly game testing in a nutshell. And yet people would still have problems with a simple game such as this riddled with errors even with high to mid PC specs
