This game definitely needs a bit of balancing to make it more enjoyable
I decided to pick up the original Nexomon game on Series X because of how much I enjoyed Nexnomon Extinction, which is definitely a fantastic game. I do understand that the first Nexomon game is older and thus won't be as polished, but I really wished a couple of simple changes were made to the original game to balance it better.

One thing I am finding is that the mons are too rare in this game. Rare, Mega Rare and Special are extremely rare to the point where it becomes extremely tedious to find them. I think this is a problem because I found myself over-leveling by massive amounts as I tried to RNG into them.

I know the player could run from battles instead of fighting them, but the reality is that running from the battle requires more buttons and is slower than just attacking the mon and winning the battle outright. The game encourages gaining gold and experience as you RNG into the mons you are targeting because it's frankly faster than running.

Even in the beginning of the game, I was trying to find Vulazy and it took me 3 hours to find it. During this time, I had many evolved mons as I was rotating through them to prevent any one from getting over-leveled, and I had over 60k coins. This completely broke the balance of the game. This pattern definitely continued as I tried find and catch the other Special mons as I went through the story.

One could say i should have played through the story, but I think it's a very legitimate way to play the game to catch all the mons in the current area before proceeding to the next. I do this in Pokemon all the time. Over-leveling is also less of a problem in Pokemon due to quick balls or using False Swipe.

I've also had a lot of trouble finding Uncommon and Rare mons too. I suspect the game first decides if the encounter is Common, Uncommon, Rare, Mega Rare, etc. first, and then chooses from a list of mons that match those rarities. The consequence of doing it like this has made some Uncommon or Rare nexomons rarer than the Mega Rare one. I lost count how many times I was trying to find 1 out of 4 Uncommon mons and saw the Mega Rare 4 times before I found the target Uncommon. That doesn't seem right.

I think one solution to fix a lot of problems is to massively scale down the experience you gain if your mon is over-leveled to prevent it from getting out of hand. I have found despite having a level 47 mon fighting level 20-ish mons that I can quickly get to level 59 as I search for all the mons in the area. This is way, way too much. I've had to bench so many mons because they frankly gained too much experience. I have to imagine tweaking this xp formula would be a straight-forward change.

The game even gives XP Share, and I actually laughed to myself because this game really doesn't need it.

I also think the distribution of mons needs a bit of tweaking. I think the commons are just way too common to the point where I think it doesn't respect the player's time. Definitely needs tweaking.

Anyway, the game is good. I don't want to be hard on it. I just thought I'd share the most problematic part of my experience.

Merry Christmas and Cheers!

Interesting to know. I had many more problems catching every mon in Extinction, as especially legendaries were very hard to find (while in this game you just waited for the popup). But my playstyle was also different: I've only searched the first areas to get the 6 mega Rares that I really wanted to have in my team. Afterwards I've finished the game and while doing the postgame content, I've caught all other Nexomons. Later when I've played Extinction, I've spend almost 30 hours catching my remaining mons (but also my tactic backfired, as catching non-evolved forms is harder in the lategame).
