Also, this whole stigma of every monster battling game being a clone of Pokemon needs to stop. You wouldn't say that about a game in any other genre, so why Pokemon? It's a genre of games. That's like saying all the FPS games out there are clones of Doom.
Pokemon wasn't even the first of the genre. It was Shin Megami Tensei.
I didn't say "every monster game". I said "what is the difference between THIS GAME and TEMTEM." I expected there to be differences... thats why I asked for them.
Nexomon has better story, and is cheaper with just 20 dollars and the art is pixel based which you might like if you missed the classic Pokemon. And is single player only from what I heard so it sounds like there's no multiplayer but some might prefer that instead so that's up to you. As for the gameplay, I'll say the gameplay is more similar to Pokemon than Temtem is to Pokemon so that might give you the idea of how gameplay works in Nexomon except it use Stamina instead of PP. Think of Stamina as like a Mana bar you see in other games, all skills is linked to that one Stamina bar instead of getting it's own separate PP like Pokemon, as a result if you use a skill that use most Stamina then you run run out of skills to use that much faster, it's a way to keep it balanced cause strongest move become less spammable that way. The starter is between 1 per each type so 9 different starter to choose from. Nexomon do have more creature to capture too than Temtem with up to 300+ Nexomon to capture now which make sense cause there's actually 2 Nexomon game, first being older than Temtem.
While Temtem has better gameplay as in has better gameplay than Pokemon too but it's 2v2 which I like cause there's teamwork mechanic too but some might not like the idea of being 2v2 most of the time, and it does cost more with it being at 40 dollars. However it's also an MMORPG which some might like and may not, but MMORPG is one of the most requested thing for Pokemon so that's nice. Nexomon is fully out while Temtem is still in early access currently. Temtem gameplay is more challenging even against a normal AI, is more balanced than Pokemon, and it's less spammable too cause they use Stamina, not PP just like Nexomon except Temtem add even more ways to keep it balance on top of that. Nexomon use Stamina too, but for Temtem some moves need to wait a turn before you can use it, which makes the game more balanced since you cannot spam as much. Plus Stamina is although similar but not the same as Nexomon, Temtem added more by you being able to increase your Stamina stats per level, and your Stamina restore to full per every battle, that means if you're strong enough to not get hit, then you no longer need to keep going back to Pokecenter in the middle of training just to get full PP again. There's no miss and crit in the game, so it's more skill based and more fair cause there's less luck involved on top of already being more balanced so there's less instant faint in Temtem compared to Pokemon. There's 3 starter just like Pokemon but the type is different, in Temtem it's between Crystal (Rock), Melee (Fighting), and Mental (Psychic) which also works like Rock, Paper, and Scissors just like Pokemon. Have you ever thought it was strange that your Pokemon would just forget a move after learning 4? Well in Temtem you still use only 4, but you don't forget, instead you get to switch out which move you wanna equip at anytime outside of battle. Nexomon has Noxlocke Mode, and although it's not in Temtem they are planning on adding that pretty soon which is nice considering it's a fan-made thing that was never added in Pokemon.
But if it helps although it's not confirmed Nexomon is more likely to make a sequel, while Temtem is unlikely to make a sequel and will instead get constant new updates including new Temtem cause it's MMORPG so that might change the total price between them if you think about it since you'll have to keep paying for the new Nexomon game while for Temtem it's only once therefore making Temtem even cheaper, though in the future Temtem is planning on adding store and battlepass so we'll see how that goes. Yea, there's actually not a single macro-transection right now in Temtem despite being a MMORPG, although they are planning on adding it when the game launch I'm just surprised they didn't add any yet.
