Cant rotate object upside down.

Im trying to rotate the molding upside down to fix interior roof where i demolished a fireplace. I can rotate with my scroll wheel for left/right.

I've been told that in story mode you're not able to do this; only sandbox mode. A bit of an oversight if you ask me.
