How much do you play story mode vs sandbox mode?
I don't really play story mode at all since the tools are so much less powerful and I want to see how much everyone else does.

I have nearly 2,900 hours in-game and 99% of that is creating custom jobs in sandbox (if not more lol)
Also can I ask you a BIG favour? Stop mentioning the removal of DEV tools in every post you make, it's getting really old now and the game can still be enjoyed without them, it's not the end of the world!

no, people are allowed to talk about the devs bad decisions. And the game is considerably worse without dev tools

Except, it WASN'T a bad decision to remove the dev tools. The dev tools weren't meant to be in the retail version of the game (i.e. the game the players got).

I agree with Moving Target, it is getting old now and the game is actually better without them as less chances of game breaking bugs occurring. Also, you have been told the reasons for the decision the devs made countless times and refuse to accept it.

Have you even used dev tools? The game is much better with them. Can you move an entire house? Can you build a pool any depth? There is even a floor plan editor. If dev tools weren't worth it, people wouldn't use 3rd party applications to get to them.

Curious about sandbox mode. I just started a thread asking questions about it, but I'll double up here if you don't mind: what is the point of Sandbox? Is there a system of "progression" or do you just have unlimited funds and full access to all the tools right from the start? What do you do with your house once it's finished?

The only 'progression' in sandbox is to your skill as a builder, you have unlimited funds and access to all tools (more powerful and versatile than story mode tools)
When the house is finished I upload it to mod.io for other people to play, there are essentially 2 types of builds (1) Showcase builds which is just a finished house people can explore or an unfurnished shell they can finish themselves. (2) Jobs which, like story mode, have a set of tasks to be completed.
I make jobs as it is challenging and more fun but takes a while to master, it is also what keeps me engaged with the game striving to make my next build better than the last!

Yes I have used dev tools, for my own single player game, however as I pointed out in my first post over 99% of my time is spent making custom content for others to play in sandbox mode, using dev tools in my creations runs too much of a risk that I may break the games of my subscribers. So are dev tools worth it? Not to me or my thousands of subscribers NO!
I have never needed to move an entire house because I plan my build beforehand although it is possible to move an entire house from say the beach to the suburbs WITHOUT the use of dev tools. What is the point of a deep pool? Swimming isn't a thing! Floor plan editor, no idea what that does and it is possible to create a simple floor plan using a solid base and single brick high walls to map out your build.

That sounds very interesting. Keeping in mind that my only experience with this game was just dabbling for about thirty minutes in story mode a few months ago, how does someone like me go about playing one of your houses? Where would I go about finding it and get it into my own game? Is what you're describing sort of like you becoming a provider of "jobs" in a sense and the player could tackle your house the same way they would in story mode?

Please re-open your thread or start a new one so we don't hi-jack this one and I will answer in full

Hey Moving Target. I just restarted that thread. I originally pulled it down in an effort to de-clutter the forum and not just spam the same question, but if you don't mind chiming in on the topic I'd love to hear what you think:)

Real life has deep pools? What are you taking about?

Make up your mind, are we talking about real life or the game?
(1) DEEP POOLS - real life yes - game no
(2) MOVE AN ENTIRE HOUSE - real life no - game yes
(3) FLOOR PLAN EDITOR - real life yes - game a passable workaround
Does this make it clearer as to what I am talking about?

You can absolutely move a whole house in real life, it's how foundations are rebuilt, and some smaller houses are produced in assembly lines then put on trailers to their final destinations. But that is completely irrelevant as of course a HOUSE FLIPPING game is based on HOUSES which we have in real life. You picked the one game, which it's basis is modeled after real life house flipping.
OK is this going to turn into a post about how dev tools should be in the game so it better represents real life??
I answered your original question and now I'm out!
