I recently uploaded a mod that had an unfinished mosaic made from the small, square children's blocks, to finish it the player needed to unpack the missing blocks with the relevant colours applied, therefore they had to be unpacked because buying them would have only given blocks with the same default colour.

I agree that some creators do pack items unnecessarily that could just as easily be bought if they are a single unique item with a texture change, but sometimes packing items is necessary for the build. On a side note packing items only available in Sandbox mode can lead to a bug that causes boxes to appear empty and unsellable.
As for me, I hate painting the ceilings and mostly skip it.
Thank you for your answers though!
In general, I love jobs that really have a big before / after effect. Dirt, Trash, taking down and building walls - doesn't really matter as long as there's a nice, visible difference :). One job I played was a very modern, cool, minimalized style house that turned into a cozy beach house - not much dirt, but SUCH a big change, that job was great!
What I see very often in jobs now are pictures of the finished rooms placed inside the house. In some cases that's quite useful, for example when it comes to larger kitchens and figuring out where the cabinets should go or when there are a lot of different surface finishings in one room. But in most cases, I don't like those that much, since it somehow takes out a bit of the creative process...
Oh, and please don't let us place a roof in custom jobs :D. They are a pain in the a** in sandbox mode already, but with the kind of limited options to resize and replace them in a job, it's REALLY awful to get them right :D.
