Resuming jobs from archive

I stepped away from the game for a few months, but now I'm diving back in, and embarrassingly enough, I seem to have forgotten an important point: how to resume an "archived" job that I'm running a second (or third...or fourth) time, if I've had to shut down the game for whatever reason, or even just decided to go back to my office for a bit. Since there's no "gate" as HF1 had that lets you select where you want to go, whether it's an owned house or a job-in-progress, it seems all I can do is go into the archive and select the email for the job I'm working on, but the only option that appears is "start from scratch". I can't "continue", as I can apparently do when running a job for the first time.
Can anyone advise me here? I'd made quite a bit of progress on an archived job, but had to go run an errand in the Real World, and can't figure out how to continue the job. I don't really want to have to start over from scratch again.

Okay, this just got worse. I was working on a job from the email archive, and couldn't find a stray bit of trash. I traveled back to my office, intending to go right back to the job site, since sometimes that seems to help pop a missing bit of trash out of the geometry or something...and I can't figure out or find the way to return to the job site in progress. Going back to the archived email, the only option is "Start from scratch", with NO option to continue!
Can someone please help me figure out what's going wrong?!
