Workshop/mods when?
Considering the rather....lackluster selection of furniture and decorations, I kinda hope we're getting a workshop/mod support soon....

They also mentioned that if they do implement mods (furniture, books, etc), they will also be on mod.io

Mods are going on mod.io so it can be compatible with console versions.

Sorry to be resurrecting an older thread, but I hoped to get some more information. What make mod.io mods more compatible with console versions? It's all the same files, and if anything mod.io has fewer restrictions on the files uploaded than Steam Workshop would. Sony and a Nintendo have both made a clear stance on being strongly against any sort of user generated content that isn't pretty strictly moderated or limited, so it's tough to imagine that this approach would make it anything but LESS likely they could put such mods on consoles.

Can anyone provide more details or info on this?

If you upload something on the workshop, it's only available on the workshop. So, users using any other platform can't access these mods.
This is why so many games use mod.io. If you play on PC, but not steam (like using epic) or play on consoles, you can still use mod.io.....

Much like the release of the game itself, the PC game doesn't need to match the console game. This game gained recognition from the faithful PC users and it's not fair to punish the PC users because of greedy console companies. User mods are also a big part of how we connect in the HF universe. I think the devs are wonderful, and the game is bare bones rn because there will be plenty DLC in the future, I'm sure...that said, if they don't allow for a PC workshop (after they've released a couple DLCs understandably) it's going to disappoint the whole PC community, and it'll seem motivated by greed. Honestly, I can't see any other valid reason they wouldn't allow, at the very least, for PC users to have mods from the workshop. That points to greed. I really hope they're not going to let greed dictate, and ruin, this game.

mod.io is essentially the same as the Steam Workshop except that it allows those that bought the game on other platforms(e.g. Epic/MS Store/console) to also have access to the same content
