Getting Frustrated
Am I the only one getting pretty frustrated about the game mechanics just not working a lot of the time? I couldn't place a door for no apparent reason. Tried placing a frame first, couldn't place a frame. Quit the game and reloaded, suddenly I could place doors again.

I'm working on the house in the forest, "In Harmony with Nature' or something of the like. I wanted to move one of the windows with the diagonal architecture around it, couldn't move it. Took out the walls in front of the window and then I could move it. Then I needed to move the diagonal architecture around the window but when I pick it up, it completely changes rotation and you can't flip it to have the diagonal face down like it originally was. Whatever, try to go to the vertical pieces, when you pick it up, they turn horizontal and you can't turn them vertical again. Annoying but whatever, I'll redo the outside walls later.

Go back inside and start working on the kitchen. I place one of the induction cook tops on top of my oven counter but realize I like another one better. I go to sell the cook top and it sells my oven instead. Okay, maybe I wasn't paying attention to where I was aiming. Go to sell the cook top again and I can't sell it. Crouch to sell the cook top since it's on the floor now, can't sell it no matter how close I get. Quit the game and reload again, still can't sell it. Try to just put my oven back on top of it, can't do it. So it's still registering that it's there but it wont let me select to sell or even move.

At this point, I'm over it. Quit out the game. Feeling pretty let down on this game compared to the last one. Very simple, not a lot of story, and the free design houses (so far) don't even work right.

I'm trying to work on this house now, and it's really frustrating how the diagonal pieces don't work properly. Like you, I'm getting the diagonal pieces locked into horizontal orientation. With some other bits, you can press V to rotate them on the Y axis. Not so with these.

I tried making a new big window, only to realize some of the walls are three blocks thick. So I went around outside and realized there's diagonal pieces in some spots, so I thought maybe I would take one down to see how it worked. Now I can't get it back the way it was.

I suppose I'll just remove all the diagonal pieces, since inconsistency in a house makes me crazy. But it's really annoying to have something like that in the game, only to find that it doesn't work like it should.

Im getting frustrated with so much missing from the game. Are the devs planning to release things in an upcoming paid DLC? Did the devs plan on doing things this way to soak us players from more money? Is this game going to just be a cash cow for the devs? IMHO the devs better get their stuff together before bad reviews start showing up...just saying.

This just in, companies create games for money. Shocking news, I know.
You guys immediately expect the worse even though they have proven that they are listening to us with the first game.
They worked pretty quick on a patch right after release that addressed a good amount of negative feedback and added more accessibility options.
Idk why people just ignore that. That is already way more than most game devs ever do.

Be patient. They are actively collecting feedback and working on stuff.

Everything in this game is so tedious! I am incredibly frustrated by the awful ceiling painting (even with using WASD) and the floor/wallpaper placement. I absolutely hate having to move every little thing to make sure it is all covered. Plus all the weird placement issues, glitches, and missing items/basic features. I like some aspects of this game, I really do feel the devs care and are working to improve stuff, but until this is fixed I might just stick with HF1. I feel a little burned by buying this game in the current state, but I do not mind supporting them since I got so many hours out of HF1. Hoping it will improve drastically though.

I have become frustrated when in ASSEMBLY. At times, the control and mouse don't maneuver the way it should to get lined up to place the items. And the camera is very sensitive and all over the places at other times. This makes it difficult when it comes to getting the timing down because I spend more time on getting the angles to align to be able to put the items in the right place.

It took a little time to get used to the painting and laying (tile/panel/wallpaper) but I've got that down fine now.

I tried using the game controller but my character would amble all around the place without even me moving it. Also, I moved much slower with controller. I went back to keyboard and mouse and didn't have any issue.

Maybe you are right. Maybe you are not. Time will tell.
Maybe my interpretation of what a sequel is supposed to be is way off, but I expected HF2 to at least be on par with what HF1 is, upon release. IMO it fell way way WAY short. The devs removed key features that many players really liked such as before and after photos. Other items were released only half finished.
IMO the devs should have done a poll in these forums of key features the devs wanted to remove, to get an overall opinion from us players if we want that feature to remain or be removed.
