I wanted to add the stairs to the basement in the house it selfs.
Thats no problem. but i cant remove the old stairs and the old roof on top of the entrance.
Use your upgraded flipper tool and select the paintbrush after pressing R. This will give the ability to completely change both stairs and roofs, can't sell but don't need to.
You can't fully change them. Roof length/orientation can't be altered, for instance. Only pitch, type, and materials. I wanted to put a balcony on our family home, but the original roof blocks entry unless I change it to "sloped". If I want to keep the second story's shape, I also have to pitch the slope to 10+, which ends up looking like a graphical glitch because I can't adjust length (also wanted to move the stairs, but can't even rotate them.)
I'm genuinely surprised that there's no sell or delete option for default structures after the last game. Editing is better than nothing, but it doesn't fix the problem.
I'm with you on the sell/delete, Devs may be planning that for a dlc, as for the rest, I stand corrected. I'll admit I didn't try doing the length/orientation because I didn't think about those criteria, but I understand how they would be important abilities to have in cases like you describe. Forgive my oversight.
No worries! Figured I'd clarify so people didn't get their hopes up too high.
Good thinking!
That is true guys, you need to do the following steps:
Select you paint tool, paint the stairs or the roof with any color (to do this on stairs, usually you need to click on any side of the stairs (where a blue line will highlight)... doing this, it will paint the whole object with the color you choosed.
Now with the painted object, you can switch to the sell tool and sell it.
Are you in sandbox or story mode? No matter how I try, I cannot sell the stairs in story mode. Not even through the steps you have given here. Could it be that you stumbled upon a bug? Which house did you do where this worked and has it worked more than once?
