it does too, HF2 was mentioning about moonrise bay stuff so it continues on part of the HF1 DLC
And I would say it's worth getting for the level of customization alone
There are differences between the 2 games and what systems people prefer are based on personal preferences. Examples:
For spotting missed trash and dirt - Hf1 has a mini map, HF2 does not and instead uses a sensor. I think the mini map is more helpful, others don't miss it.
For tasks to be done at houses - HF1 has a master checklist and you can pull up what needs to be done in every room no matter where you are standing on the property and lets you know when you have completed everything 100%, while HF2 only tells you what needs to be done in the room/area you are currently in and uses a 3 star system where 3 stars does not equal 100%. Some players like knowing when they're 100% done so prefer HF1.
Before and after pics - HF1 has them, HF2 does not so there's no record of the work you've done.
Assembly - HF1 you assembled some items on site as part of the job (showers/bathtubs, radiators, etc), HF2 there's a mini game workshop that just gives you a small discount on the assembled item in the store but there's nothing to do at the site. People who liked assembling things miss it, people who hated assembling things don't.
The art style is different - some prefer HF1 because they think HF2 is too cartoony, others think HF2's graphics are better, others like both or don't care either way. ymmv
HF2 is missing basic items like carpeting and curtains/blinds and there's limited wall decorations (no paintings or pictures unless you import them yourself).
HF2 is more customizable. There are several different color palettes for most items, you can copy designs from item to another, you can make copies of items, you can import personal photos, building in sandbox mode allows for more creativity, etc.
Sorry for the length. I didn't think it'd be this long when I started lol I just thought some specifics would be helpful.
Missing features:
1. No before/ after pictures
2. No buyer profiles or buyer feedback, so no design to work towards
3. No room types, i.e. placing sofa and TV in a room no longer makes it a living room (because there are no room types)
4. No sort by room feature on the tablet. No tablet either actually
5. Much fewer items, although this makes sense as it hasn't been out as long
6. No curtains or blinds at all in the game
7. No overall quest tracking, only per room
8. No % tracking for job completion
And the UI looks like it was made by a 10 year old for a school project or for a mobile game. It's a downgrade in every way at the moment, unfortunately. I have no idea why they removed so many established and well-liked/ used features from the first game.
I disagree. The features you said are missing are mostly unnecessary. Listing all of them in turn:
1. The before/after pictures required the HGTV DLC and were taken from weird angles. Just use your computer's screenshot tool to take pictures that make sense to you and store them in a folder somewhere.
2. Buyer feedback in the first game was annoying and weird. A couple who needs two plants but not three; the guy who demands two sofas but will happily buy a house with no kitchen, etc. Good riddance, I'll do what I want!
3, 4. Room types are a good idea when they Work. When a bed from an expansion, or a kitchen sink from a set are not recognised as such, the room doesn't get recognised and buyers pay a lot less for a house with "no kitchen"
5. A far better choice of textures and colours for each item, with the ability to mix and match, as well as copy colours/textures and duplicate items, more than makes up for it.
6, 7, 8. The devs confirmed they are working on those, as a lot of players have requested them. The Y axis inversion is also coming.
Also, HF2 has a grid for precise item placement. In addition, picking up trash, painting and washing windows is a lot quicker than in the first game. Not to mention the sandbox mode to build your own houses. In HF1 building houses is more limited and requires the Farm DLC.
Finally, I have no idea why so many people dislike a clear, large, cute UI that puts a smile on everyone's face.
