I didn't think of the last two - I'll give that a try! Thanks!
I dunno why developers conitnue to add these garbage options (accept FOV) when all it does is not only cause motion sickness but hurts the quality of the visuals anyway
I really really want to play the ever-loving heck out of this game, as I did NOT have any sickness with HF1. Unfortunately, the nausea and resulting migraine from yesterday's 4 hour play session means I can't really do much in game right now. I also hope the devs find a way to help reduce the motion sickness, perhaps by allowing us to limit the FOV more.
how is higher fov worse? the more the FOV the slower the turning speed = less Motion sickness
After playing some more today, I was noticing a lot of the issue was coming from the jerky walking as well! I play mouse/keyboard, and there's only one speed with that, so you go from still to super fast and stop way too quickly, it's just nauseating. I noticed when I tried playing with controller, it was actually much better for me. Except I'd rather play mouse/keyboard. lol
I definitely think an adjustment to the movement with mouse/keyboard is a necessity!
Yeah, I noticed the FOV is a bit weird in this game as well. Too high and things get way too skewed, making it even more nauseating. Hopefully something will get figured out for us motion sickness peoples! lol
That's what I read, but we both tried it on different settings and found that the lower, the better. As another person said, the higher you go the more the walls and such start to get skewed and seem to curve in on themselves. I did try somewhere between 70 - 80 on FOV, but it didn't help at all. Higher than 80 and things spun so fast and skewed in too quickly, and this was with motion blur turned off and a lot of other display settings either disabled or turned way down. My monitor and system are built for gaming and are rather new, so it can handle everything at max setting without any issues - it's just my brain that can't handle it. :P
I do agree that slowing down the walking speed and getting rid of the bouncy "realistic" camera movements when walking would help. I also took someones advice and walked around holding the sell/edit gun, which has a little reticle that provides a focus point on the screen. That helped a bit too.

I have had to return so many games due to motion sickness even though they were otherwise amazing.
So sad.
