Demo performance is terrible

I tried this on my Quest 2, and I don't think I've ever seen more stuttering. I'm running an MSI GS66 Stealth laptop with an Intel i7-10870 and nVidia RTX 3070. I tried it on AirLink first, and that was unplayable, so I switched to a USB-C video cable (optical type). Still a scrambled, stuttering mess. I shut this down and loaded up Microsoft Flight Simulator to verify my hardware was working, and it was very smooth. Is there a setting I can change to unknot this mess, or is the demo just poorly optimized?
Edit: Non VR mode is smooth as can be.

That's a bummer. It runs smooth for me on my VIVE Pro 2 with a Radeon RX 6600. It could be this game is more graphics intensive than MSFS. Maybe try disabling mirror mode and/or lowering some of the graphics settings?

your problem is that your on a quest regardless of the version.
the system this game runs off and through does not play well with the quest to steam link up
i also don't image the fact your running it through a laptop of all things is helping.
your not the only person i have seen saying they had an issue while using a quest.
as a valve index user on a desktop rig. i have had zero issues
though i will immediately say demo is mid at best.
