This vs wii u version?
I got this bundled with my wii u as download code but I pretty much forgot I had it downloaded until now. I heard Wii U version has gamepad features like drawing puzzles or something.

I don't see much reason for me to kinda double dip besides ultrawide support atm

If you already have the Wii U version, you honestly don't need this unless you really care about more stable performance and higher resolutions, other than that there are very little changes in this version.

There's almost no reason why anyone should stick with the Wii U version. The biggest improvement the remastered version has is its stable performance which is extremely important in an action game. The Wii U version would rarely, if ever, hit 60fps and even then, that would mostly be in the first half the game. The second best improvement is the loading time. The original Wii U version had long loading times, ranging from 3-5 minutes, which made retrying missions more trouble than it was worth. With loading times now gone, you can get right into the action and retry to your heart's content.

The remastered version also makes a few changes like rebalancing the score requirement needed to hit a Pure Platinum in certain sections, making for a much more pleasant experience (for the most part). The game now has more detailed information on several aspects to better explain to the player what is going on (like leveling up heroes and how it's connected to slots and the vitality gauge). Before, you would level up and gain new abilities but the game wouldn't really tell you why.

Since the game made use of the gamepad for certain puzzles, the remastered version allows you to play either with a picture-in-picture view or split screen view. The camera controls for the puzzles work a lot better now (it now moves in the direction you face instead of being locked in place in such a way you had very little cardinal direction controls) so now they aren't as much of a pain to deal with. The secret Kahkoo-Regah missions no longer penalize you if you die and hit retry now. One of the best changes the game has.

I hate the Wii U resolution, the bump to 4k+ is great. And yeah, stable performance.
