How possible would a Switch Controller mod be?
I played a lot with the Xbox controller, but never found it as comfortable as the switch pro controller. How feasible is it to get a mod that changes the button prompts to the switch controller's and to swap the confirm button? I can get used to it without it, but it nags at the OCD part of my brain.

Probably never, since this game is not popular enough to have talented people modding it

That's a little unfair considering we got a 60fps patch and the classic music patched in by people. They deserve some credit and definitely are talented. Wish I had their names memorized, but those seem to be some talented and good dudes!

You can change the Switch controller input in the Steam Controller settings and make X to Y and viceversa, so looking at the prompts become easier

It's not that, it's the muscle memory. I can play like this just fine based on button placement, but it would be nice to just have the correct prompts and swapped confirm/cancel buttons.

I don't want to crush your dreams but this may take way longer than what i anticipated. I managed to swap the PS4 buttons successfully, as they were partially left in all versions of the game (i won't go into the details, but just know that for some reason they thought it was a great idea to put all the buttons except A and B inside one file and those two in a completely unrelated one...), the problem is that for some reason the game loads a different set of font textures (where the buttons are also located) depending on your language. That means repeating what i did 6 more times plus doing it all over again for the switch version (i can swap the icon prompts, but not the menu ones, meaning that in game it will have the nintendo layout as intended, but until i find the way to mod it in the exe again, A will work as cancel and B as select). I'd need someone skilled and fast in photoshop to get through all of this without getting completely mad.

Hey, don't worry about it if it's too annoying. It's not the most important mod in the world! Appreciate the effort.

Ive playedthrough the game twice with the switch pro controller, i just had to remap the face buttons to match the position of the xbox controller and it was smooth sailing after that.

Hey man, do you mind giving me the dualshock button prompts since you got that working?

I'd gladly do that, but it would require you to play the game in Italian... which i guess is not ideal either. Sorry people, this really takes time. Proof of concept here: https://imgur.com/a/rvJfLFc (still working on the controller replacement, it will probably take the longest). I've completed the switch pro controller ones as well (still in Italian, it's my language), if you really want you can try them here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MkeM254_qiiE31HjVvkg5KLZhF2jIbuh?usp=sharing (for some reason A and B in the menu are in a single file instead of being splitted across languages, so they will work just fine). You just have to pick one of these and paste its content inside steamapps\common\The Wonderful 101 Remastered (so that you have coreui.dat and the Ui folder alongside the other folders).

Edit: Just finished English(US) version of the Switch mod if you want to try it out, feedback would be appreciated.

I have now added the DS4 version for English (US). I guess more languages will follow depending on the request.
