Button Layout
Hi there,
Hello Guys. I come from the WiiU Version (I played more than 200h on that system) and I'm having some troubles with the Xbox layout (XYAB). How do I change that to match the Nintendo Layout? I'm using Switch pro Controller. Can someone helpe me? Could not find anything on google.

I'm not familiar with the Steam controller and custom button layouts but you should be fine when using the standard 360 configuration. The gameplay controls are 100% the same as the Wii U original and the only thing that changed is that the confirm and back buttons while navigating the menu is switched.

Not really. There's the XyBA problem. They're inverted on the game. I keep pressing the wrong button `cause I'm used to the Nintendo Layout.

Some options that you have are to do it via Steam. If you go into Steam settings, there is an option called controller.

It might be a lot easier to do with while in Big Picture Mode. But there should be an option in there when using your N/S controller that will let you invert your buttons. I think that buttons will still show the same "in-game" but when you are pressing the buttons themselves they will be inverted.

I hope that sort of helps or is that what you have been doing?

So buttons on screen will still stay the same but when you press them on your controller they should be the N/S way. So the game will say press B on screen and show it in the Xbox location in the right most position where the A button is on the N/S controller.

For this game it could be more confusing but because you have played a lot of hours in this game I guess that location of the physical buttons is what you care more about than what is being on the game screen is that correct?

If it's not an option in the controller configuration in the game, you can open Steam Input and swap those buttons on your controller for the game.

- settings
-controller
-general controller settings

Do you think that if you did spend hundred of hours in the game already that this could potentially be an issue?

By which I mean that compared to other games this one seems to show you the button and their relative location on the controller.

Because normally a game would just say press B, you would press B and that would be it, it would not "show" you B and the other buttons.

So in that case even if you did flip the buttons it would still potentially be confusing for some?

I've got to agree with Amy here, I've spoken with some folks and not a button layout that matches the Switch input settings, much less just completely custom control settings is a baffling move, even more so when I haven't even played this on the WiiU.
