Is there like a SUPER tutorial?
My first objective is to replace the brake pads on this car.

mf... I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT A BRAKE PAD IS let alone WHERE it is on the car. I went into examination mode and scanned every piece of this car that it would let me mouse over. I saw nothing that said it had a brake pad in it.

Is there some kind of babies first mode that highlights the relevant parts of the car on your screen, or am I just deadass too mechanically stupid to play this game?

[Edit]
And before anyone mentions it, I did check the tutorials. Played the actual tutorial and flipped through the little video tutorials. There were ones for stuff like oil change and suspension, but nothing for brake pads that I could see.

Thank you. This will solve one issue, but is there anything in-game that can offset my absolute lack of automotive knowledge? Because I'm not gonna enjoy playing very much if I have to tab over to youtube for every single quest objective.

I may as well start watching actual automechanic videos at that point.

In the job list you can "mark" (star) the parts to highlight them, so easy to find them. For the time being avoid taking jobs that have undisclosed problems, only accept the jobs where all parts to fix are listed. So you may have to pass on a couple of the "Mission" jobs until you get the hang of it, shouldn't take long it's all pretty much the same parts in all cars with minor variations.
Get stuck just ask, someone will help.

Just get you a super cheap little car from junkyard to practice on. Completely strip it down and start rebuilding it. You'll learn all the parts and where they go. Once complete, sell it off. From there, you should have a pretty good idea of what's what and where it goes.

Yeah, like astrofelix59 said, just "starmark" the faulty items, and you'll have no problems. Items marked like this are visible from every angle and every distance, so even if you're at the front of the car, and the faulty item is in the back, you'll be able to spot it.

Working like this, just pay attention to the parts you come across, and where they are, and before you know it, you'll be a fully certified mechanic! :D

Reminds me of all those times ppl ask 'Will this game teach me how to do real life mechanics?'
And, I then say... Yes! *cringe* sort of...
Cuz, when they go into it knowing absolutely nothing at all... then yeah, the game 'can' help quite a bit... just won't get you near close enough to being RL 'certified mechanic' lol.
