realistic engine sounds
I think this game would be better if it had realistic engine sounds for each different engine type.

It would be realistic if the engines crankshaft rotated and ran while you were under the hood. Timing is done with an engine running.
Wrench for models rotating internals
thanks for your reply.
Hopefully they will improve them in the next iteration of game, with a bit more focus on the actual driving. Don't expect anything more for CMS2021

As it is image stutters just going up and down on lift.
Available animation budget was spent on the fan near the PC.

There’s no suspension compression even when the car is lifted and lowered on the lift.
Plus when you run the compression test (for the pistons) you turn the engine (ignition) over and there’s no basic animation on that with the pulleys/belts rotating.
Have you tried ‘Wrench’? In EA. It’s the most complicated car mechanic sim made. It works in VR but is made for 2D as well (I have) The detail is humongous and there’s only a few racing-type cars to work on but it all comes apart right down to nuts/washers on the floor/in your hand or you put them in containers. It’s being rewritten for more detail etc.its on steam

There is also Automation, that has highly detailed engine and body modification but it has been in EA for 10 years already, basically it's not easy or fast to do the more detailed games.

I just watched it. Seems a lot of user frustration due to lack of tutorials and the need for BeamNG to complete it.
Wrench comes with a work-in-progress workshop manual for jobs and you can follow it quite easily. I do like the fact you can buy a racing car and race it virtually and repair it and upgrade it, plus earning money for doing a mechanic business.

Wrench has been in EA for a long time as well. If you had VR this is the sort of fun you would have!
It’s great in 2D but just takes paractice and patience to manipulate stuff.

Yeah I know wrench, just don't like the look of the cars, I'm ok with lack of detail in CMS.

Have you tried all the other CMS#. I have them all, I think going back to 2014. Great for when you want easy jobs!

Then there’s:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1078760/Motorcycle_Mechanic_Simulator_2021/

https://store.steampowered.com/app/538810/Train_Mechanic_Simulator_2017/

I have them all and they are fun as they offer something different

This has moving engine parts modelled when you start them up (x Ray)

Tried motorcycle, love the lack of mini games but not much else.
Haven't tried any of the others.
I have Tank mech sim... I picked it up for the nostalgia--having been a tank mech in military for 8 years. I put it away though cuz it seemed they had a long ways to go with development still. I imagine it's come a long way since then. The Plane mech sim seems interesting but, it has some negative / cons discussed in reviews that just seem a bit jarring imo. So, I've left it off my list. I'd have to check on it's progress--if there was any. It seemed kind of 'dead' on the development front when I checked on it. Never knew about that Train mech sim though... will have to look it over. Have the Motocycle sim--also needed more development imo.

I still feel like the CMS game is probably the 'best' of all of them although the tank mech sim throws in some quest missions--kind of gives it something CMS lacks although CMS has things it doesn't also. Imo, it's a toss up between CMS and TankMS for the 'best' ranking.... mainly cuz TMS is still being worked on.

I ignore people today that leave vitriolic reviews based not on the game but themselves.
Plane mechanic is easily mindblowingly detailed. 81 missions over 800 parts. Incredible detail. Bugger up a repair and the pilot your fixing the plane for won’t come back!
TMS is very good for the museum and ability to paint the tank and apply decals and interpretation boards. It does get very repetitive though and of course you make millions in money.
Train MS is different, not hard. You can drive a train with a crane to recover crashed trains inc working the points on quite an extensive track back to the workshop.
They all add something and certainly worth it in a sale

Who cares though? We're talking about CAR mechanic simulator, not about fixing trains or planes lmao

Who cares about YOU! We were talking about other sims, if you had cared to open your eyes and read a thread. So remove your ignorant ‘we’re’ from your false statement.
People like you remind me of Amazon reviews.
Q: “how long is the cable on this model of vacuum?”
You: “I don’t know, I didn’t buy it and bought another one”

Please refrain from inputting nothing that brings anything to the conversation and leave the rest of your input to your social media following. lol

Blocked as per usual.
