Piston with conrod
Every car I get that needs the engine looked at has at least one Piston with conrod that needs repair. Now I do not mind doing this once it a wile but every engine repair is nuts.

One way around that would be to accept cars that dont mention engine issues.
Not exactly a solution to the possible issue but at least you can pick cars you know for sure won't have piston problems.

side issue, Can pistons be repaired in any way?

You cannot repair pistons, they must be replaced.

Thought in case some still don't know the Hemi engine you must have regular pistons with conrod & regular piston rings. I tried all combos to find this out. Funny there are Hemi ones but they don't work.

There's vanilla Hemi and DLC Hemi, and I think they got some mixed up in rush to get DLC out. Orange 440 hemi's used to be called OHV C&D.

I feel this, i will straight up just build a new engine and replace it instead of tear down and rebuild. Though i wouldnt do that for every build even if money isnt an issue, i would step away from engine gigs for awhile in your case.

When I get engines in like this I rebuild them. The game is not good at diagnostics. There is a reason one piston is bad and it is likely the entire engine needs to be rebuilt b/c of it. You would not want bearing metal and shavings circulating through the engine. One failure in one cylinder can result in a lot of premature bearing wear in other areas as well as in the oil pump, and in the valve train and cams. IRL if one piston has had issues you need to inspect it, its bearings, connecting rod, the head, etc. Once metal shavings get into the oil from one failed component, it is usually game over for the engine.

It varies based on the engine type. If someone comes in with an i4 or a new V8 those can be rebuilt pretty quickly, but if someone brings in an old ass muscle car then taking out all the rods and putting them back in is pretty tedious. I'm guessing that's also why real mechanics will often refuse to work on really old cars, so gold star for realism I guess.

Then there are Aston-Martin engines which I mean... Aston-Martin can go ♥♥♥♥ itself.
