Parts are locked to the engine type. So, some of the engines have both variants--a turbo model and a non-turbo model. Unfortunately, you can't take away (or move) a turbo on a turbo engine. The engine design is locked into the games main coding--which modders (so far) have not been able to modify--engine design that is. You 'could' add parts with those mods installed to the game... additional accessory parts. You'd just change out the exhaust parts from downpipe back. Engines exhaust manifolds can not be changed.... in 'Car Editor' ofc.

Edit: You might get someone to make a config for you for the car in question. Post which car you are wanting to change / add some exhaust parts (or other additional parts) and a list of the parts you want installed. There's some of us which are extremely good at working in Car Editor. Maybe one of us will bite and post the new config for you. Or, just get good with Car Editor yourself. I encourage it cuz, I like to modify most the games cars--my favorite ones at least.

No, and it's really a bummer. It'd be nice if the editor were modular like the in-game parts are. I've always wanted that. A lot of parts in the editor are grouped together, as opposed to piecemeal like they are in-game. Engines and their manifolds are an example. Another is exhaust pipes. Modular in-game; all one piece in the editor. Play around with some downpipes. You might get somewhere with those, but you can't #dummy a header, and thus, not a turbo. Comes with the engine. Same with transmissions.

I'll save you the suspense. Dealing with intake/exhaust systems in the editor is a pain in the f*cking *ss if you're really trying for serious customization, but if you can get it to work, it's pretty great.

thanks for the response and yeah i know all about the pain lol took me about 7 hrs to custom pipe up a single big turbo rotary including exhaust hence why i would love to #dummy the factory turbo so i can form a somewhat of a manifold to the big turbo but i guess ill have to just overlay some piping

Sounds like you got a plan. Good deal. I spend more time on that stuff than the rest of the car combined. Gotta get it just right without driving myself crazy, haha.

thanks for the edit but im the same as you with editing my fav cars i am decent with it and understand how to add and change config files cause for the last week i been addicted to the editor lol only thing i can say im looking for would be my original issue and waiting for other cars to be added to the workshop

That's cool. I ended up spending more time in Car Editor than I did playing the game... back in CMS 2018. And, yes... that's always been one of the things I wish they would change... just as @SkinGravel pointed out... being able to swap 'most' parts with others instead of engines, gearboxes, exhaust being combined units.

@SkinGravel... yes, I would of worked the car over for them if nobody jumped in on it... eventually. That's the only reason I suggested it... cuz, I'd be willing to if there were no takers.
