Buy wisely don't pay over Estimated Market Value at least to much over and it's pretty easy money all the way.
Going the Repair-Junkyard path is a way for max profit but takes a lot of time scrounging for parts, whereas just buying every part new and selling the junk parts makes less profit per car but you will get more done quicker so it balances out.
There are a few cars in the workshop that can make tens of millions profit in one go, however you will need a couple of mil in the bank just to buy a 1% frame at the junk yard.
Need any tips just ask.
Most of the money in expensive cars is in the panels, engine parts and running gear cost the same no matter end price. So repairing panels is good for profit as are the more costly parts like engine blocks and gearboxes etc. but the rest of the parts you can get by just buying all new.
Paint shop best used for our own Keepers, where money is no object and it's just for the feels.
Haven't bothered looking for months, don't really care about the money, maybe it's just some mods, I don't know but seems to be working for me.
I can also confirm the mod cars do get a 'slight' increase in price immediately after painting. But, they lose that little bump once you've driven them... anywhere. I hadn't realized the car wash would restore that little bump in price so, I checked that out and sure enough... cars value went back up that ever so slight increase from the paint job. I have also noticed that paint jobs will NOT give the cars value an increase as much as the paint cost to do. So, it's only worth doing for your collection or if a job order requires it.
Hadn't really looked at the multi- million credit cars, profit is so extreme I never bothered to quibble over 1k spent on paint.
Yeah, I've 'kind of' known those cars in the millions get ridiculous profits on most things. Makes sense it would with Paint jobs I guess. The average cars though... it's more like you pointed out--700 ish... even though it cost us 1k to do. I don't like adding mods that have car values in the mil's though. I feel like the economy is out of balance quite a bit in this game and maybe it's due to whatever economy the Devs are used to dealing with in RL... maybe it just doesn't transfer over to the game well. Or, maybe they just didn't spend too much time grinding out a well balanced economic plan for the game. I've been tempted to go through configs and do it myself at times.
With those high end cars, well you don't HAVE to sell them, so that works as a way to motivate, earn money to buy them. Aside from anything else I've played enough to not have to worry to much what I have to buy and sell, can't pass a bargain though.
Fill parking with McLaren's and Ferrari GTO's, start new game.
