Can't create a new engine
I bought a 1964 DC Typhoon in a barn. It had a V8 1carb OHV engine. I wanted to do a conversion and install a V8 HEMI 440 Magnum engine. This engine and 3 others were on the car's card as possible replacements. I dismantled the old one and put it in storage. Then I tried to add the chosen engine on the engine stand. Unfortunately it didn't show up and I have no way to build a new engine. I tried different ways but it not worked. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I can add the engine bay is empty. Please help.

You need to select "create new engine" on stand (blue icon at top of selection wheel), after dismantling of original engine otherwise stand will want to build last engine.
You will need to add new engine to car with "crane", can only build in engine bay, the engine just removed.
Make sure you haven't left a fuel filter behind, small and easy to miss.

Thank you for answer. But it doesn't work. The car's engine bay is empty: no filters or anything. When I choose on engine stand "create new engine" and choose the one I want to build, the screen is dark for a second or two and that's all. The crane is empty - when I try to add engine to the car the "you don't have necessary part" is shown.

When you select the engine you want to build, the stand will be empty, but if you hover over where the engine should be you will see an outline. Click on it and you can start adding parts to it starting with the block.

Right click game in steam library, choose 'properties' and go to the '...files' section. Do the file verification. Cuz, kind of sounds like there maybe a bug in your install... based on everything said in this discussion. Or, you have a mod / dlc with a conflict possibly. The file verification should fix possible issues for game files--to include DLC. If it's a mod issue, just need to open each mods car folder and double check all the files are edited correctly.
