Engine Spec or Details
Hello.
One thing that i cant understand after many time of play the game is engine swap options, wich is HP and Torque or as you prefer: details of the engine we can put in the car. We only have the list of engines we can create or put in the car but lacks the details of how many hp or torque them have. In this way we are in dark when decide to out a new block and we can be thinking that are doing great but might be the wrong one. What i have is a printed list of the engine specs created by a user (but dont mention all so is out-of-date) and from there try to do something but lacks some of them.
If the devs, could add some specs or details when is choosing from the list that would be awesome.
So, tell me, how do you do to know whats best?
Thanks.

When you go to the engine stand and select 'create new engine' then, you can scroll through the list. Selecting an engine in the list will show details in upper right corner. The details shows HP for that motor if I'm remembering correctly. That's how I've decided upon engines. Ofc, trying to remember which engines could be swapped on a particular car while you go through that list is another problem. Might need the good ol' pen and paper to write down some notes... just like a real mech, lol.

Yep. That they could had in the corner to make a choose more easier (since we know hwhat type can go) but it is what is and that's why i had the list but the pencil is on side as well.

Create (on Stand) just block and crankshaft of each engine type and stick them in warehouse, then when you have stripped down a car, it's easy to just swap a few in out to get the specs (which don't always match the specs on engine stand).
Also kick it old school and have a pencil and paper handy, the act of jotting it down helps with the memory in the long run.

That sounds a good ideia, only block and crankshaft. I tougth that i needed to change even the crankshaft so from that, my doubt on how to create it but that i will try before

Create as you would any engine on "Stand", select engine type, add block and crankshaft then remove to personal inventory.
Thumbnail picture in inventory will be of complete engine, so just in case you have any completed engines keep them in a separate warehouse to avoid confusion.
A block with crank will need the "Engine Crane" to be put in and out of car body.
Any other questions feel free to ask.

Can't go wrong with pencil and paper, even in near zero-g.

Reminds me of the Space race before the cold war ended, NASA spent millions with the aid of Fisher inventing a pen that could write upside down, in zero G and even under water.
Russia said we just use a 2B.

That's what I was thinking of, haha. Couldn't remember the details without you saying it, but that's where it came from.

They were pretty cool pens none the less, had a couple years ago.

Nice. I bought a Zippo Apollo 11 50th AE a few years ago. Pretty neat lighter. Zippos dry out a lot faster than they used to it seems, but a cool little collector's item for me.

Hate to tell you this, but that story is apocryphal. It's true that NASA/Fischer developed that pen, but not in lieu of using a pencil. In fact they used pencils but they were problematic, they could break off bits of graphite and wood splinters that would go floating around the capsule in zero G, causing havoc.

The story would have you believe they spent a lot of money to solve a problem that already had a solution, but in fact, the pencil was the problem.

Sorry for the late reply. Yeah that sounds a good idea put them on the warehouse (i didn't remeber of doing that since i store some upgrade tier 3 parts) but the worst part is to remember to get them from here lol sounds strange but when i start to restore a car from scratch, this happens a lot but i'll make this time, a section of some ready parts to install. Thanks for the help.
