CMS 2024 or 2025?
Any plans for a future version of Car Mechanic Simulator? I'm sure the question was asked before but I didn't feel like searching.

Touché!

In fact, I did search after posting this but all I found in the posts is some dude saying ''because the devs are working on the new version''. It seems to me that if there was a new version in the works, it would at least be announced somewhere. Was it? I don't feel like searching.

No

They may feel like they've already wrung this game out... several reiterations of this game as it is. There's versions; 2014, 15, 18, and now 21. There's probably not much else they could add to the game without having to do a bunch of work at coding... which they don't 'seem' to want to do--judging by the lack of improvements added between each version despite the playerbase repeated requests for certain improvements in each version. There's a fairly large list of things requested (same things in each version) going all the way back to the 2014 version. Those things just never see the light of day. With all that said... I could forsee this game version being the end of the road for the series. But, that's all just conjecture. Only time will tell.

That is also my feeling. This game could go in many directions, adding some of what ''Wrench'' has implemented you know, de-simplify the game and make it more of a real ''simulation'' game. I will not list my wish list here but like you said, this would require a code rewrite and months of validation.

There is a lot more they can do with this game, And they just need more new car company’s involved.

the biggest problem comes from what they promised in CMS21 vs what they delivered and how they treated the players when called out on it. I can't remember everything that was promised, but the fluids were and then weren't there and there were supposed to be more parts to work on. When the game launched and the features were missing, PlayWay and Red Dot pointed fingers at each other then started telling players they expected too much. No, we only expected what they promised on their own website (which they changed after launch). They finally made tuning part of the base game instead of paid DLC, but it still isn't fully what was promised.

This video is fake. Its all MODS for CMS21 shot at different angles to look different. Even the comments in the video call it fake. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE !!!
Just face it everyone, there is NO NEW game coming. It would've been announce it was in the works by now. CMS21 came out in Aug 21, we're now in Sept 24 with no information of of CMS 24 or 25 is being made. Sorry to bust everybody bubble, its not coming.

I would love to see them add rebuilding transmissions and maybe expand upon the repair minigame a little. I didn't have to play long to hit a point where money doesn't really matter because I figured out how to get tons of it (rebuild junk yard cars. Doesn't matter if you finish them, you'll always profit unless you screw up really bad)

Yes, only 2 ways to lose money, fluff a repair and poor impulse control.

CMS 2026. This every 3rd year release is coming as if every new game is just a glorified DLC to the previous one. 2021 is just 2018 on steroids. They need to come back with new parts, more simulation, better problems, mistakes, penalties for not properly fixing the car, real washing and painting instead of just "click to do"

its time for an entirely new game.

I think they probably wont release a new one until the PS6 in 2026

Or... maybe they went in a different direction all together? Check this upcoming release still being worked on;

Not saying that it's the same team behind this series but, it's sponsored by the same organization behind this series I believe. Just read a little blog about it so, not sure about the full details. Seems more of a timed approach... like you're a Rally Car Technician that has a time limit to keep the car in the race. Not fond of time restrictions personally. But, for those that don't find CMS enough challenge on the 'business' side of things, maybe this is more their flavor?

Edit: My Bad... confused Play2Chill with PlayWay. Different organization. However, it is still an interesting title for the Mech sims on the market.

I agree, and they also need a new engine too, maybe someone else should take over this project away from Playway publisher who just seems to spit out a ton of low quality games rather than a few proper releases done by bigger teams of devs
