Help! My engine has disappeared!

CMS decided to move my cars around within my garage. Once I had retrieved the car (from the wheel alignment shed) the engine that I had taken out of it has disappeared. What is worse, an autosave occurred while I was looking around so I can't got back to when I started and found the move.

Has this happened to anyone else? Also, is there any way of retreieving previously saved games or is it just overwritten in the same place?

So... sounds like that dang Steam 'Cloud Sync' may have messed up your save. While in the Main menu of the game, hit 'Profiles' and select your profile. An option to load a backup save should be available. Before you do that, you might want to right click the game in steam selecting 'properties' and uncheck that box for 'Cloud Sync.' I personally hate these game clients cloud saving features... they're notorious for effing up my game saves.

As far as I know save files get overwritten, with no backups. If you want to poke around here's your save file:

C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\LocalLow\Red Dot Games\Car Mechanic Simulator 2021
