Messy garage
For my personal taste the garage is a bit too messy. are there mods or anything else to clean that up? the lifting platform is also a bit rusty. I wish there was a way to get rid of the garbage and the rust in the garage. I think it would be nice to get stuff to tidy it up a bit and make it clean.

The ladder near the door to the second room, which is unlocked ($) in skills "toolbox"
change walls, floors, paint, and clean up the trash.

The ability to clean up the shop was added with an update quite a while after launch, and man oh man, was it a welcome little addition.

Personally I like having the trash and rust, because to me it feels like just the right amount of "somebody uses this". It's way cleaner than my grandfather's personal garage, so it doesn't feel like a dump, but it's not so clean that it feels like I'm in some corporate chain shop with strict policies about keeping the place clean.

Understandable. Dad always kept his garage and tools spotless, at least as spotless as a garage and tools can be. Never had any lifts, of course, but no piles of trash or cigarette butts underfoot. Feels dumpy and lazy to me. Don't wanna slip on some random flattened piece of plastic, or a puddle of spilled oil, and knock my lights out, either. That's the practical side of a clean shop, garage, etc, even if it's not a chain. Banging a shin or an ankle sucks too. That's my preference, though.

My dad's garage was usually decently clean (if not a bit cramped - four cars in a three car garage will do that) but my grandpa's was always the exact opposite. That is what my mind thinks of when I hear about a messy garage, my grandfather's. Old detached building filled with piles of wood shavings, random barrels of washers and bolts, and more '28 to '31 Ford parts than the mind can comprehend just strewn about the place. Has enough room for five~ish cars but currently only houses three and the rest of the floor space just has parts strewn about. Inch think layer of dust on just about everything. It's actually a lot closer to the game's barn finds than the game's garage lol. Wouldn't enjoy working in my grandpa's place with all the tripping hazards and all that dust, which is why the game's garage feels clean to me by comparison.

Ha... speaking of 'corporate chain shop'... In the military, we had to keep our shop pretty dang clean. I mean we messed it up with grease everywhere and parts strewn about while we were working on something but, we cleaned it right back up immediately afterward. Couldn't go home that day till it was. So, it was NEVER left for the evening looking trashed. Personally, at home... I tend to leave some messes (parts scattered about) in my shop... cuz, I'm the only one going into it anyway and when my old achy body says time to quit... it's time to quit. Messes can wait till another day.

Workshop has "texture packs" if you want to change posters and signs. I like it old school with some out of date calendar girls. I'm a traditionalist.

First lesson of garage maintenance and safety is keep it clean and free of spills. It is too messy in the game.

If you are bothered by virtual messes and dirt in a video game, you should consider a different real world career other than auto repair.
