the next logical iteration would be 2024 as there have been three year gaps in the last 3 TITLES of the games, but to date, no official word has been made on the next game.

However, CMS18 was released in July 2017 and CMS21 in August 2021 so there is a 4 year gap between the actual release dates of the last 2 games suggesting that the next iteration may actually be coming in 2025 at the earliest

Yeah I figured 2023 was out of the question but I just took a stab at it anyway. Haha. I have been playing this since CMS2015 was released. Loved every sequel since. Would be cool if there was a CMS2025 release as it would mark 10 years of Car Mechanic Simulator.

2024 would be the 10 year anniversary of the series, the first game in the series was Car Mechanic Simulator 2014. CMS2015 was the second game.

Not sure what else they would add that would make the leap for a new game. Hoses? I dont see this series getting too crazy on the detail going off of all the other titles unless this specific one makes them enough cash vs all the other projects they have going on.

Hoses, and basic wiring have been asked for many times, I'd be hard to do those with all the variants they would have to add, I'd be nice if we could add fuel to the gas tank, and they talked about hand car washing/painting, that would be cool! they could have a car lot extension to the game where Ppl could buy the vehicles we restore and haggle with customers or even add parking spaces to the front of the garage where we display and sell vehicles, I'm sure they got something up their sleeves for the next iteration of the game

I could see some NPC haggling, would definitely break the lonely world atmosphere. I hope they bring more online events personally.

There is a fine line between good game mechanics and tedium. The fluids are nice and round out the engine bay which used to look empty as hell but it gets tedious to fill them all every time, over and over. I just pray they bring options for everything. Love me some games that give me tons of options to tailor how im feeling a particular day.

I agree though, im sure they got something in mind, i just hope it brings enough to the table and isnt a cheap bolt on mechanic.

The space outside the garage is big enough, it could be used as a lot to sell cars. Any cars you do not want to sell you keep in your garage area. Imagine you inside your shop working on a car and you get a notice that someone is interested in one of your cars just outside. You walk outside a see a 2D or 3D NPC standing in front or beside the car they are interested in. You get close enough to click on the NPC and they say they want to buy this car. Then you have an option to sell or not sell the car. OR..randomly you get a notice saying that <insert car name and year> has sold and your bank balance goes up. It would be cool if we could haggle prices but I am not sure how difficult that would be to code for a developer.

I would not like to see CMS 2024. Instead, I would rather see the further development of 2021 game so that more interesting dlcs like drag racing come out

I really hope they offer some more functions for the next edition. I definitely had some of the same ideas here with a New and Used Car Lot. just a better way of buying and selling cars from and to customers and taking trade-ins as well. also i hope they will add an option to buy Crate Engines, instead of having to built every single one from scratch. I like building motors, but some are just a real pain in the rear and take forever. need a bigger wheel selection and better tire options. plenty of room for improvement. need more cars/trucks/Suvs from 80s and 90s. i have yet to see any "fake" ck10 and suburbans, blazers, broncos etc.

Dude...I really like your idea of a used and new car lot. Usually when I work on cars, I fully restore them back to original. The idea of just fixing some cars to the minimum just to get them running is fun too. I also agree with you regarding crate engines. There are some engines that are a royal pain in the butt to build and I would rather (on lazy days) to just install a crated engine instead.

I agree, they need some C/K series trucks. I was hoping they would have them in a new DLC this time around but maybe in CMS24.

As for the crate engines, there is a mod on nexus that allows you to buy crate engines or tuned kits to buy all parts and build it yourself. Just installed it last night after a few hundred hours with vanilla and its a game changer.

Proper diagnostics and not just a few magic tools that tell you everything. Hoses and wiring as you said.

Proper performance tuning instead of a "match the bars" game.

Features in regards if how cars drive, let us adjust suspension height/stiffness.
Wheel Camber and Toe angles etc..

Better driving models so you don't fly off the track by the slightest steering wheel movements at higher speeds.

Proper way to display of damaged parts instead of "damage = rust".

They could make more mechanics into mini-games instead of "use equipment" tho that could be an update to the current game. Washing your car or painting it could be minigames.

There are many things that would make a leap for a new game.
