YOU CAN PAINT RIMS?!?!?!

Just figured out how to paint rims lol

Just discovered it myself, if you try to paint with no car in the paint area, you can paint a lot of different paintable parts.

you can't paint the Rims that are part black, you can only paint the colored part of them

You can paint rims, calipers, suspension parts (most not all), gas tank, transmissions, a lot of engine parts (not all of them yet). Whatever is in your inventory when in painting mode you can paint. The parts that can't be painted won't show up in your inventory when painting,

I would be careful about painting body parts when they are not on the car. I have had the game freeze on me in the past when doing this so i don't do it anymore. Not sure if they have fixed it yet or if they know about it but i just paint the entire car instead for the body parts.

Thank you for this. Trying this I discovered you can paint almost any individual part, not just rims, but other things like Coil Packs, Engine covers, Transmissions, body parts. I'm sure there's much more that can be customized. I feel like a fool for playing nearly 300 hours and never having discovered this.

No problem I can't wait for them to add all the suspension parts since i hate it when i paint all i can but some parts you can't and it looks unfinished. Still looks nice but unfinished.

Also the chrome paint won't look chrome on all parts...that is something else i'm waiting for them to fix. Hopefully they get to fixing that sooner rather than later.

It is nice to be able to colour match the engine and suspension to fit the colour of the car.

That's pretty cool, I mainly play it to do restorations from the junk cars. Can you paint the mufflers and stuff?

Some of the cars you buy come with painted rims. Is there any way to know what color it is? It shows it on the paint chip in the upper left corner of the picture, but how can you match it?

Never mind, I figured it out. You have to dismount the rim and take it to the paint booth. When you select it, the current color will come up. If you repaint it, it will be added to the previously used colors.

Save 100cr by just jotting down the values for colour, saturation and brightness (last tab).

QoL Mod will let you paint mufflers and all the other parts not included by game.
