Wiring?
Can you rewire the cars? Make custom wiring harnesses?

Never played mechanic simulator before, but my major weakpoint (IRL) is wiring, was hoping to use this to help me understand mapping out and/following wiring diagrams/ creating wiring harnesses.

Most OEM are Plug and Play, can't mess them up, unless you create one from scratch.

Right, I'm wanting to learn to make one from scratch, potentially using an old one as a reference point.

This game will not teach you to do that.

this line of games is far too arcadey for that. would really love to have a simulator with at least an approximation of the real thing. If you ever find that sim, hit me up!

I'm pretty disappointed in the direction these games have taken. CMS 15 was really something fresh, but 17 was a very minor upgrade over 15 (even worse in a few things). This one is barely an upgrade over 17. After playing the demo I don't really feel like buying it.

I'm on the fence, and I loved the series so much I re-bought the lot of them on various platforms over the years.

Kind of disappointed they added fluids but it's literally a magical drain and fill like the oil always was; got a brake job in the demo and spent ten minutes looking for the lines to flush before I realised :/

Also the licensed DLC is making it a hot mess of generic and real cars mashed together in the garage :/
