Upgrading parts

Hi,
Is there any interest upgrading "standard" parts ?
I saw performance parts getting better when we upgrade them but what about standard one ?

I'm curious about this too. I know I've tested and the 'value' of the car increases with each upgraded part (some adding more value then others), but the cost/profit doesn't seem like a wise move.

I'd be interested in know if upgraded 'standard' parts will improve a car's performance and what is the benefit of upgrading suspension/wheels? Do you feel a noticeable improvement in the car's handling on the track, or not really.

There was another post on this forum where someone experimented and rebuilt a car with all 3-star parts using 20,000-30,000 scrap. The results were surprisingly bad. $10,000-$15,000 added value to the car. Considering how frustrating and tedious the scrap mechanic is, that is a huge waste of life. I’m glad someone did the experimenting for us and it wasn’t me.

I try it on sandbox mode and for now, except exhaust part because it is tuning parts (I didn't begin engine construction yet), there is any improvement for upgradin all parts... I guess it's only usefull for tuning parts.
Maybe it's usefull on engine part too. I don't know.

Seems like a feature that didn't really get fully implemented. Perhaps we'll see more out of it in the future. Unfortunate, considering they had time to work on not one but two DLC, both ready in time for release day, but parts of the game still aren't fleshed out yet.
