I find it bizarre that replacing a 90% plate with 100% improves the value of your car when you sell it but painting a car that looks like a patchwork quilt does not.
That's my experience. My last car, I didn't do Dyno, alignment and it registered in my stats.
Then you can sell it.
Buying cars from Junkyards, Barns and Salvage auctions 100% count. I am not sure about the normal auction cars, as I only bought around 3 of those.
Mod/Workshop cars also DO count towards the achievement.
These things are 100% required to be done to the car:
1. Use the welder to fix the frame.
2. Fix/replace all the body parts (this includes license plates)
3. Replace all the interior parts.
4. Replace all engine, suspension and electronical parts inside the car.
This will be reflected in the 4 categories you see on the first info screen of the car.
ALL of these NEED to be 100%!
I am 95% sure this is all that is required to have a car count as renovated.
I personally also did the fluids to make sure a car could actually be started/driven just to be on the safe side. I am not sure if it is actually required.
I can say for certain that a paintjob, dyno and test path are NOT needed. I however did usually paint the car to go for the 'paint 60 cars' achievement at the same time.
I did the test path 25 times as well for the same reason (not to be confused with the test track. The test path is inside a building where you van also align wheels).
I hope this helps people in the future with this achievement.
