What is the point of the alchemy scrolls (and the spell to make them)?

These scrolls can be crafted, but even so I don't see the point of them. I honestly thought they would either give more money for an item or the same price as a specialty shop which buys the item for a higher price.

The tome to learn the spell to scribe the scrolls has a 900 second cooldown for 80 artifacts. I am scratching my head as to what I would even want this for. I had an item that sold in a general store (not even a specialty shop) for 72 gold. Alchemy gave me 60 for one of the same item.

I am failing to see the point of anything in this system. Am I missing something?

I think it's just a way to clear up your inventory space when nowhere near storage/shops.

I think you are right. It is probably meant for places like greywall dungeon where iron weapons are dropped and they are simply left on the ground because there is no justification for having them take up inventory space.

I still feel like I was burned on buying that spell but buyer beware, I suppose. The Horsy spell was the same way with its 30 minutes cooldown. I don't think I will ever be able to use these spells in a meaningful way.
