I'm talking about not playing as a specific named character... As in, I get to name the character myself, choose the gender, that sort of thing. I'm not talking about a fully fleshed-out character creation menu either, since this is EA so I wouldn't be expecting release-version features.

This isn't RS. I never said it is. The game says it is inspired by old school game like RS, hence I compared this game to RS. yeah but the games single player Funk so don't let it get ya down, you can even completely shut off seeing other players while in the game

I don't know the full extent of the main story yet, but I couldn't imagine adding the option to select your gender and first name (keeping the plot relevant surname) would hurt it.

Personally, I'm hoping that we get more character customization options later on. I get that we start out as Lord Whathisname, but that's all ancient history now. I should be able to head over to the makeover mage and start my life as a beautiful woman if I want to.

I haven't bought the game yet. I just watched Splattercat's video, it didn't have custom character. I think I tried the demo as well. I didn't get too far into the demo as I didn't have time to try the game out.

Oh, cool. I was under the impression that the demo had the full character generator, given that I didn't see anything said about the demo chargen being limited and it was said that we could continue from the save of the demo. Most people are going to want to restart their game in order to customize their characters, in that case. :P

Really, you have to be an ass about this? They said they tried the demo, and given that we're intended to continue from the save we started in the demo, why would we have any reason to believe that the full game has more character options (which we would only access on a save that wasn't started in the demo)?

(Also, it doesn't take 60 seconds to check, since the information doesn't seem to have been anywhere besides this thread, they'd have had to buy the full game and download it, which they might not want to do if they're on the fence about it.)
