Is it even possible?
To make it past one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ night? The game is ridiculously unfair.

Yes. Avoid combat if possible. Consider your every move instead of running around. Drink a lot of water :D

Oh hey, a dev responded? Well now I look like an a-hole, lol.

I'm considerate! It feels like i'm forced into combat, because enemies are everywhere and I can't find supplies unless I search areas which always have enemies. And swear to god, among my dozens of playthroughs, I found three bottles of water.

Throw stuff at enemies to stagger them and then try to break the line of sight. Use zombie corpses for stealth. You can fill bottles at puddles. Feel free to ask any specific questions on the Discord server :D

I didn't know you could use corpses. Huh. Thank you for the responses!

This is the difficulty of this game, and one of the reasons I like it so much. I think it has been seen as unexpectedly hard because it wasn't heavily advertised as a game that would need so much careful planning. Some runs are simply going to be more difficult than others, and I am by no means good at the game yet. One of the fastest ways to learn is to think of new ways to use items. For example, throwing glass bottles and ducking inside a door will often give you enough time to raid a room. Raiding that room may get you items that make you able to fight off the horrors in the game. (The horrors themselves are "Ridiculously unfair", but they're also world ending soul eaters so I think their difficulty is well placed to give that sense of despair against them that is only solved through burning yourself alive.) I would give it a couple more shots at the game, and remember that the furthest thing you're going to get to a win here may just be a bullet to the brain.

Uh I mean if you play detective or Veteran it's easy to survive 1 day.
Kill a Cannibal at range with a hunting rifle and take his ammo
or build pipe bombs to protect yourself with
look for chainsaw and gas
food and water are pretty easy to come by, the main thing is self defense or having a way to escape.

IDK I've only survived like 12 days as my personal best so far.
